A new Insurance Eligibility Indicator is now available on the Schedule and Patient Chart, allowing staff to quickly identify potential insurance coverage issues without navigating to the Check-In screen.

The color-coded “E” icon provides an at-a-glance view of eligibility status:

• Green: Insurance eligibility is active.
• Yellow: Insurance eligibility check failed or coverage is inactive.

Hovering over the icon displays additional details, including primary and secondary insurance eligibility status and the last verification date.

To enable this feature, navigate to Admin > System Setup > Global Settings > Eligibility and select Display Patient Eligibility Status in Schedule and Chart.

This enhancement helps staff identify coverage issues earlier and reduce potential billing complications.

A new Patient Language filter has been added to the Patients with Visit Due workflow, allowing staff to target patient communications based on their preferred language.

Users can select a specific language to filter patient lists and send communications for both Overdue and Upcoming Visits.

The filter defaults to Any to maintain existing workflows. When English is selected, patients with no language preference or a declined preference are also included.

This enhancement helps practices deliver more targeted patient communications through Email, SMS, and Patient Portal messages.

The Preview/Hx tab is now available when initiating a medication refill through the Quick Rx widget or saving a new prescription.

This enhancement allows providers to quickly review a patient's medication history, including previous prescriptions and dosages, without having to sign the prescription first or navigate to a separate history view.

This update streamlines the refill process and makes medication history easier to access during prescription entry.

A new Repeat Order option has been added to the Lab Result page, allowing users to quickly reorder lab tests without manually creating a new order.

When viewing a lab result linked to an existing order, click the Repeat Order icon to automatically create a new order with the same tests. The new order opens in a separate chart tab, where users can review and make any necessary changes.

This enhancement simplifies the lab reordering process, saves time, and reduces manual data entry.

Medication refill requests are one of the highest-volume administrative workflows within many medical practices. While some refill requests require direct provider review—such as controlled substances or higher-risk medications—many routine refill requests can safely follow standardized workflows. Without structured routing rules, staff often spend significant time manually reviewing and determining which requests can be handled by assistants versus those requiring provider intervention. 

To improve efficiency and streamline refill management, we’ve introduced Refill Request Sorting Rules, a configurable workflow enhancement that automatically categorizes and routes pharmacy refill requests based on medication drug groups and patient population criteria. This feature allows practices to establish standing-order style refill workflows by automatically determining whether refill requests should be marked for assistant handling or escalated for provider review. The result is reduced manual sorting, faster refill processing, and more focused provider attention on higher-acuity or controlled medication requests. This is set up by turning on a global setting  and setting up rules in the prescription area: Admin > Prescriptions > Refill Request Sorting Rules and In Admin>Prescriptions>Refill Request Sorting Rules

We’ve enhanced Document Manager Auto Upload to provide greater flexibility and automation when processing inbound documents and faxes. Practices can now configure document handling with expanded options under Admin > Lookup Lists > Document Type, including modes for Summary Only, Auto Upload Only, or a combination of both. This allows teams to tailor how AI-powered summarization and automated upload workflows are applied by document type.

Additional improvements introduce more intelligent document routing and linking. Referral and lab-related documents can now automatically associate with the appropriate referral, order, or provider, helping maintain stronger clinical context within the patient chart. The update also includes expanded provider assignment options and a “Next Up” round-robin workflow that distributes incoming documents among eligible providers based on scheduling activity. Together, these enhancements help streamline document processing, improve workflow efficiency, and support more organized management of inbound clinical records.

We’ve introduced Real Time Prescription Benefits to provide greater visibility into medication coverage and estimated prescription costs during the prescribing process. When a provider selects a pharmacy on the prescription processing screen, the system can retrieve real-time benefit information based on the patient’s insurance plan, selected medication, and pharmacy, helping providers make more informed prescribing decisions at the point of care.

Benefit options are displayed directly within the Real Time Prescription Benefits dropdown on the Process Prescription page and may include alternative medications, pricing estimates, and coverage details when available. Providers can compare options in real time and adjust medications, strengths, or pharmacies before the prescription is sent, helping support cost-conscious prescribing and reducing follow-up changes related to coverage or affordability. This enhancement helps streamline prescribing workflows while improving transparency into prescription benefit information for both providers and patients.

We’ve introduced Bulk Diagnosis Code Management to help billing teams more efficiently manage diagnosis codes across encounters, charge tickets, and claims. Instead of updating diagnosis codes one procedure line at a time, users can now add, replace, delete, and re-order diagnosis codes across multiple procedure lines simultaneously, significantly reducing the time required for claim corrections and resubmissions.

This enhancement is especially useful when a diagnosis code needs to be updated across multiple charges, such as replacing one ICD-10 code with another or removing a code from an entire claim. New bulk management tools allow users to make changes across all applicable procedure lines in a single workflow while automatically maintaining diagnosis sequencing where appropriate. By simplifying diagnosis code maintenance, this update helps streamline billing operations, improve productivity, and accelerate claim correction workflows. This is found in the EHR under Inquiry > Claim > Modify Claim Dx. Clicking ReOrder gives checkbox options to select multiple line items. Once the user clicks Edit Selected, they are brought to a screen to reorder the Dx Codes.  

A new One-Time / Temporary option has been added to prescriptions, allowing providers to issue temporary prescriptions without affecting the patient's ongoing medication refill workflow.

This feature is useful for situations such as travel supplies, lost medication replacements, or temporary dosage changes.

When the One-Time / Temporary checkbox is selected on the prescription's Info tab:

• The prescription is labeled One-Time Rx in the patient's prescription history.
• The prescription automatically moves off the patient's Current medication list the following day.
• The prescription is excluded from future refill and renewal requests, allowing the patient's standard prescription to remain the default.
• The Patient Portal will not offer a refill option for the one-time prescription.

This enhancement helps prevent temporary prescription quantities, directions, or pharmacy selections from being unintentionally reused during future refills.

This enhancement introduces AI-powered extraction of insurance card information to streamline patient intake and reduce manual data entry. When an insurance card is scanned or uploaded, the system can automatically extract key details and populate the appropriate fields within the patient’s chart. This helps minimize manual entry while improving overall data accuracy.

By automating the capture of insurance information, front-desk staff can process patient records more efficiently and reduce the risk of errors that may lead to claim denials or billing issues. The system also highlights in red potential discrepancies between scanned card data and existing records, allowing staff to quickly verify and confirm accurate information.
