Tooltip for Billing on Checkbox Controls

Currently on a note templates any control that has billing attached appears in blue, but oftentimes users are unsure of what the actual billing codes are. We have now added a tooltip to checkboxes so that when a user hovers over the control it will show the billing code(s) and description(s) attached.

Print Merge Upon Book

Oftentimes same day appointments are made by nurse triage, who do not work on the Check In tab and do not have an easy way to merge a document such as a rounding sheet. We have now added the ability to allow users to merge a document as they are booking an appointment.

On the Book Appointment screen there is an option for Merge Document Upon Book. When the option is enabled and a document is selected the document will pop up on the screen once the user clicks Book. Additionally the document can also be saved to the patient's chart on merge by checking the box on the screen.

Distributed Documents

Practices frequently encounter forms that need to be filled out for patients or by patients. These forms may have been given to the practice by a school, employer, attorney, hospital, etc.and are often already in PDF form.

The practice may need the patient to add information (especially a signature) to the form and may also need to merge some data onto the form. Other times they just want to be able to send it to the patient. If the PDF has merged data such as PHI on the form, then the practice needs to send it in a secure manner, like the portal. If no PHI is merged, the practice can send the information via email.

To handle these scenarios, TriMed introduces a module called ‘Distributed Documents’

ADT Messages via Secure Direct Mail

As of May 2021, hospital physicians are required to notify a patient’s Primary Care Physician when one of their patients is Admitted to, Discharged or Transferred from the hospital for CMS reimbursement. The preferred way for the hospital to send these Admit, Discharge and Transfer (ADT) notifications to the PCP is through Secure Direct Mail.

Mark Portal Hold

There are scenarios where a Document Type or Result defaults to Patient Viewable, but the provider wants to have the patient contacted by phone before the item can be seen on the Portal. However, the provider also wants to sign off on the chart item since they are finished with it.

To handle this workflow, there is now the ability to mark a Result or Document as Portal Hold which will make it not viewable in the Portal regardless of the Patient Viewable checkbox value. The Portal Hold button can be manually checked and unchecked. When clicking on the Portal Hold button a pop-up will appear requiring the user to enter notes before changing the status.

A historic audit of the Portal Hold status will be stored in the system and is viewable by clicking the H next to the Portal Hold button.

Additionally, within PPAdmin a practice can choose to automatically mark abnormal results as Portal Hold. Then, when the user is ready for the patient to have access to the results in the Portal they will manually click the Unmark Portal Hold button on the result.
