In the months and years that have followed the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccine Manufacturers have developed and continue to develop new vaccines to guard against COVID-19. In order to offer flexibility when it comes to logging COVID vaccines in the EHR, TriMed introduces a new COVID Immunization Module. This feature will allow practices flexibility when logging COVID vaccines a patient has received and helps manage the billing codes that are required when COVID vaccines are administered in-house.

A practice can determine what to set on the header of their receipts when they are printed from the EHR. 

For Name, Address, and Phone choose between Company, Patient Department and Service Department information. 

The Prices on Superbill preference has been updated to allow a practice to choose to show the charge amount, allowed amount or to not show the prices at all. When Allowed Amount is selected, and if the procedure does not include an allowed amount in Admin, then the system will display the charge amount. 

Additionally, the Superbill will now show the Total amount on the Superbill. 

In order to limit confusion in the setup of new vaccines inside TriMed Complete EHR Admin, the dose number has been separated from the Immunization Name. 

In Admin > Immunization Setup the dose number is now contained within a separate field.

With this change, no special setup is needed for vaccines that already exist in the system, and front-end users will not notice any changes to the Immunization Module.

All users will now be able to easily access Release Notes from the menu underneath their initial. 

TriMed Complete has a preview available to all providers which allows them to quickly search for a drug while writing a prescription. As the provider is typing in the drug name the system will search the drug database instead of just the prescriptions already written by the provider and will automatically display matching prescriptions.  

In order to allow our clients to preview this feature a user preference is available under the Rx category called ‘Use advanced as you type’. In the coming weeks this feature will no longer be a user preference, but instead will be implemented for all users.

A new Chart View Preference has been added called 'Show Appointment Time'. When enabled the appointment time will be displayed on the Appointment chart tree item for all current day and future appointments. 

TriMed Complete introduces a faster way to log flu vaccines that were administered outside the practice. During flu season patients often receive a flu shot somewhere besides your practice, such as a pharmacy, and at times it is important for the practice to notate this information. 

This feature will also be beneficial for practices that are working to meet specific care quality measures. For example, eCQM measure ID CMS147 takes into account patients who received an influenza immunization OR who reported previous receipt of an influenza immunization. This enhancement can help a practice gather this information with fewer clicks.

There is a new section in Admin > Immunizations > Influenza called Outside Flu Shot.

Enter a Flu Name, Group, and CVX, and click save.

Now on the vaccine schedule, a "Log Outside Flu" button will appear. 

Clicking this will allow the user to select a flu shot, enter comments, and add an approximate date given.

The system will save the flu shot as a historic vaccine and a record will appear when clicking the Flu History icon. If the approximate date given is within the current flu season setup in Admin then the system will recognize it as a flu shot given this season.

When a patient sees a specialist it's common that their notes are very similar from visit to visit. Instead of re-typing the note every time, there is now an option 'Close as New'. When selected a clone of the note will be made and the date will be updated to the current date. Clone as New will also copy forward the new Review of Systems, Physical Exam and Assessment and Plan features. 

On the Rx Writer the Current button is now a Patient Meds button.

The pop-up will default to showing the patient's current medications, but historical meds can be viewed by switching the dropdown.
