Within the Activity pages like Check-In and Appointment Prep, practices can mass print documents for patients in the list. Previously, if patients were added to the list, the practice would have to print the documents for the added patients individually.
Now, there is a 'Suppress Previously Generated Document' option, which is defaulted to checked. If a practice goes to print a document again and one has already been generated for a patient, it will not be generated again, so only new patients in the list will have the document generated.
A 'Notification Provider' dropdown has been added on the chart item conversation screen.
When the logged-in user is a provider, the 'Notification Provider' dropdown defaults to show the logged-in provider name.
When the logged-in user is not a provider, the 'Notification Provider' dropdown defaults to show the chart item provider's name.
When the notification is sent to another Team/User, the 'For' column will match the 'Notif. Provider.'
Example
Dr. Washington sees Dr. Hamilton's patient. The chart item provider, Dr. Washington, sends the patient's provider, Dr. Hamilton, a notification informing them about their visit:
Dr. Hamilton logs in and views the notification. He wants to notify the nurse team so they can call the patient and follow up.
Typically, a nurse's notifications widget is set to look at notifications from their scheduled provider. In the scenario above, the nurse would not receive the notification because the chart item provider doesn't match their schedule provider.
With the new 'Notif. Provider' setting, the notification will now show Dr. Hamilton in the 'For' section, allowing Dr. Hamilton's nurses to receive it.
Visit Summaries can now include the demographic information for the department where the patient had their appointment.
Within Visit Summary Admin, an 'Include Department Demographics' option has been added:
When enabled, the department address and fax will be displayed.
The Patient Notes option within Patient Registration has been available in the EHR for quite some time and is now available in the PM as well:
If Provider Notes are present for a patient, an asterisk will appear next to the Provider on certain screens within the EHR and PM. Hovering over will show the notes.
A few changes have been made to the registration process for patients registering online for a practice.
Registration Page Label Change
The registration home page has been renamed 'Account Registration.'
Family Member Page Changes
The 'Your Kids' page name on the website registration page has been changed to 'Family Member.’ The labels 'Add another family member' and 'Add baby on the way!' are now bold and dark gray.
Edit Family Members
In the family system, users can edit their information after adding family members by clicking the ‘EDIT’ button. Otherwise, clicking the ‘FINISHED, NEXT STEP’ button will redirect them to the insurance page.
PPAdmin Settings
Within PPAdmin > Website Setup, practices can allow patients to add multiple insurances and 'Copy Guarantor Email to Patient.'
Multiple Insurances
When 'Allow Multiple Insurances' has been enabled, after the patient has entered the primary insurance, an 'Add another insurance' button allows them to add additional insurance information.
Copy Guarantor Email to Patient
When 'Copy Guarantor Email to Patient' is enabled, the guarantor email address entered defaults to showing on the Patient tab in Patient Details.
Waitlists in the EHR system play a crucial role in managing patient appointments and optimizing healthcare delivery. Practices want to efficiently handle appointment scheduling by creating a patient queue that prioritizes cases based on urgency and availability. This ensures that patients receive timely care and cancellation slots are promptly filled.
Users can start referrals from the Assessment & Plan Control by clicking on the 'Referrals' tab.
A Standard Preference, 'Show Appointment Detail on Single Click,' has been added under Home/SysWide > Schedule.
When enabled, when the user clicks once on an appointment from the schedule, they will be shown a pop-up with the patient appointment details.
When using Advanced Messages in the Portal, one option is to allow patients to choose which provider they would like to send their message to. However, a practice may not want to include certain providers in that list.
To handle this, within PPAdmin > Messages, practices can select which providers to include in the list. All providers are selected by default, but practices can uncheck a provider and click 'Update' to exclude that provider.
