Appointment Confirmations as Inbound SMS

There are situations where practices need to review patient responses to appointment reminders. For example, if a patient selects an option to cancel, the practice may want to follow up to reschedule the appointment. In other cases, patients may reply with free-text messages that do not match the predefined responses configured in General Codes > Appointment Confirmation Admin, such as “I want to reschedule.” Practices want an easy way to view these responses in the Inbound SMS screen.

To enable this feature, navigate to RCM Admin > General Codes and select Appt Confirmation from the dropdown. Then click the gear icon and enable Appointment Confirmation as Inbound SMS.

Practices can configure whether to:

Display Inbound SMS for Text Responses that match specific Code 3 values, and/or

Display Inbound SMS for All Non-Matching Code 3 Values

Vital Flowsheets Unit Customization

A new setting allows users to select and save preferred units for specific vitals in the Vitals Flowsheet, including Birth Weight, Weight, Height, Head Circumference, and Temperature. The default units are pulled from Global Settings, but users can update them based on their preference. The selected units are saved at the user level and will persist across the Vitals Flowsheet.

Immunization Counseling: Not Given Reason on Scenarios

Immunization Counseling Scenarios can now be configured in Admin with specified Not Given Reasons.

For example, if a practice frequently counsels patients who decline vaccines for religious reasons, an administrator can create a predefined scenario in Admin and configure it as a checkbox within the note. This streamlines documentation by eliminating the need for the user to first select the counseling scenario checkbox, then open the Counseling page to manually choose the Not Given Reason.
