Eligibility Enhancements

We’ve enhanced eligibility visibility within the EHR to provide clearer insight into insurance coverage and benefit details. This update introduces improved filtering capabilities, bringing greater consistency with PM workflows and making it easier for users to review and navigate eligibility information.

In addition, the insurance plan grid now highlights key indicators directly within the Eligibility Last Check and Eligibility Status columns. When attention is needed, these fields will display in red, helping users quickly identify records that may require follow-up. Active coverage status is also incorporated, giving users a more complete view at a glance. Together, these improvements support faster review, better visibility, and more efficient eligibility management.

"Copy To" Option on Insurances

We’ve enhanced the ability to share insurance information between family members by introducing a more flexible Copy Insurance workflow. Users can now copy insurance from one family member to another with greater control.

This improvement supports more accurate and efficient management of family insurance records, especially when updating or adding new plans. By giving users the ability to copy, this feature helps streamline workflows and maintain cleaner, more organized patient insurance data. This is found within patient details under the insurance tab labeled “Copy Insurance.”

Vaccine Diluent Lot Documentation

We’ve enhanced immunization documentation by adding structured diluent lot tracking for vaccines that require reconstitution prior to administration, such as MMR, Varicella, ProQuad, and ActHIB. This update introduces diluent lot tracking on the Lot Management screen and new diluent documentation fields within the Immunization Detail screen, giving clinical staff a clearer and more consistent way to capture this information during vaccine administration.

By prompting users to document the specific diluent used, this enhancement supports more complete immunization records and improves traceability within the patient chart. The result is a more streamlined documentation workflow for vaccines that require reconstitution, while helping practices maintain thorough and organized vaccine administration records.

Appointment Disposition Comment

TriMed introduces a new way to capture and display appointment-related comments for better clarity and consistency across workflows.

A new Lookup List is available under Admin > Lookup List – Appointment Disposition Comment, allowing admins to define predefined comment options for appointments.

A Comments field has been added beneath the Status field on the Appointment Chart Item. This field is available for all appointment statuses, allowing users to enter free text or select from predefined comments.

Comments are now displayed alongside their corresponding appointment status in the chart tree, making it easier to review and understand appointment context at a glance.

Include Booked Slots on Appointment Search

We’ve enhanced the appointment booking experience to provide greater visibility into a provider’s full schedule during the scheduling process. Users can view both available and already booked appointments directly within the booking search screen, eliminating the need to navigate away to check existing schedules.

This supports more informed scheduling decisions, especially for practices with specific workflows or rules around visit types. By having a complete view of the provider’s day in one place, staff can more efficiently coordinate appointments and streamline the booking process.

Adding Contacts to Portal and Registration

Patients can now add and manage their own contacts directly through the patient portal and registration link. This enhancement allows patients to input relevant contact information ahead of time, reducing the need for staff to manually enter these details.

By shifting this step to the patient, practices can streamline front-office workflows and help expedite the check-in process. This update improves efficiency while ensuring contact information is captured accurately and conveniently.

Appointment Rules Booking

TriMed Complete introduces a major new upgrade to appointment scheduling: Appointment Rules. This powerful feature allows practices to define and enforce the various appointment scheduling rules that are often passed down through oral tradition or handwritten sticky notes on schedulers’ desktops. With Appointment Rules, practices gain greater control over scheduling based on provider and visit type, helping ensure appointments are aligned with provider capabilities and operational preferences.

With Appointment Rules, users can define conditions that guide or restrict booking behavior, such as limiting certain visit types for specific providers or capping the number of appointments within a defined timeframe. When a rule is triggered, users can choose to display an informational message for staff or enforce a stricter restriction by preventing the appointment from being scheduled.

For example, a rule can be configured to limit ADHD visits for a provider during set hours and display a reminder message to staff about that visit type. You can also fully restrict booking by enabling the Fatal option within a given rule, which disables the ability to book appointments that violate the rule. Rules can be configured under Admin > Scheduling > Appointment Rules, and the Save As option allows for easy duplication and customization across providers.

CDC Extended BMI-For-Age Growth Charts

We’ve enhanced BMI percentile reporting to incorporate Extended BMI data for children and adolescents, aligning with expanded guidance from the CDC. This update introduces more granular data for higher BMI values, allowing clinicians to better assess and monitor patients with elevated BMI using growth charts.



With this enhancement, higher BMI ranges are represented with greater detail and clarity within the growth chart view, supporting more informed clinical evaluation. Growth charts can be accessed directly from the patient chart using the growth chart icon, making it easy to visualize and interpret these updated metrics as part of routine care.

Inactivate Patient Automation

We’ve enhanced the patient inactivation process to better support common administrative workflows within medical practices. When a patient is marked inactive from Patient Details within the chart, a new pop-up now provides guided options to help complete related tasks in a single, streamlined step. If you are simply wanting to inactivate the patient with no additional steps, you can click the blue button “Mark Inactive Now.”

Users can apply predefined templates and scenarios that allow them to add patient codes, set a future inactivation date, send templated SMS or email communications, notify internal teams, and document the reason for inactivation. These templates can be configured under Admin > Practice Admin > Patient Inactivation Reasons, giving practices flexibility to standardize processes. This update helps ensure important steps are consistently completed while improving efficiency during patient inactivation.

Next Preventative Visit Widget

Keeping patients on track with preventive care has traditionally required staff to manually sift through charge history, identify applicable well-child CPT codes, and calculate the next due visit against AAP guidelines — a process that is both time-intensive and prone to oversight.

TriMed EHR now includes a dedicated Preventive Visit option to streamline this workflow. This option analyzes each patient's charge history and, using milestone and annual visit schedules published by the American Academy of Pediatrics, automatically determines when the patient's next well-child visit is due. When scheduling a well-child appointment, staff may receive an alert if the patient is not yet eligible for their next visit. This option also surfaces visible indicators directly in the workflow when a patient has fallen behind on their preventive schedule, helping clinics proactively close care gaps and keep patients aligned with recommended wellness timelines.
