Booking Restrictions

Practices can restrict users from booking appointments for certain patients based on their Patient Codes. 

Within Admin > Appointments > Schedule Settings a new section for Booking Restrictions has been added. A practice can choose more than one code by choosing the code(s) from the dropdown list and clicking Save. 

If a patient has the Patient Code selected on their chart, then users will not be able to book appointments for the patient.

Today's Appointments on Check-In

When a patient has more than one appointment on the same day, all of the appointments will be listed under Appointment Info on the Check-In tab.

Phone number and email linked to appointment feature

There may be times when it would be helpful to link the number to an appointment. Making it easier know who to contact if there are appointment questions, or  appointments instructions are necessary before the visit.  This functionality had now been added.  Based on visit type an email or phone number can be required when booking in TriMed Complete EHR.  The guarantor or existing contact can be easily used or updated all while booking an appointment.

Insurance Policy Holder on Check-In

Within Check-In Admin, an option for Insurance Policy Holder information has been added. A practice can choose to Show, Hide or Require this section. 

Then, when on the Insurance page within the Check-In link, the patient can click Edit to get a pop-up where they can enter in the information and click Update. The information will be reflected on the Facesheet in the patient's chart.

The Head Circumference value is now graphed up to 60 months on the Growth Chart using data from the WHO.

Sending Texts/Emails Through Portal Notifications

One thing our clients love about TriMed Complete EHR is the ability to streamline patient communications from actions taken inside the EHR. Auto-portal notifications allow practices to send valuable information to their patients without extra clicks. These notifications can be set up to trigger off of actions taken on items such as Notes, Prescriptions, Documents, and Results to name a few, and have the ability to send a text/ email to the patient to inform them that they have a new Portal Item.

Depending on everything that takes place during a patient visit a patient may receive multiple texts/ emails back to back within a short time frame. A new Global Setting has been created in order to cut down on some of these texts/emails.

Go to EHR Admin > Global Settings > Suppress auto-portal notif text/emails.

When this feature is turned on, after an initial text/email is sent, portal notification text/emails will be suppressed for the amount of time indicated. For example, if a practice sets this field to 60 mins then after a portal notification triggers a text/email, it will suppress any portal notification text/email to that patient for the next 60 mins.

Note: Manual text/emails along with text/emails that are not triggered off of Portal Notifications are not affected by this setting and will continue to be sent to the patient regardless.

Immunization Scanning

In an effort to make inventory tracking easier and more accurate, we have implemented Immunization GTIN scanning. Scanning the code will enter the relevant information directly into the Lot Management page so users will not need to manually type in the data and reduce the risk of entry errors.

Uploading Insurance Cards

When a practice enables the ability for patients to upload a copy of their insurance card through the Portal or Check-In, the system will now upload the insurance card as an Insurance Card Chart Type instead of a Document.

Chart Print (CCD) Templates

With the new Patient Standards Codes Setup, a user can create different templates to determine what gets generated on a CCD.  The template can be applied anywhere a CCD can be generated including notification rules, referrals, bulk patient chart print and sing patient chart print.  


Templates can be set up in Admin> Global settings> Patient Codes Setup

Change Department on Booked Appointment

There are times when there is a need to switch a schedule slot to the other department. It is now no longer necessary to cancel and rebook all of the appointments. There is now a new setting in the user preferences to allow department edits on the schedule.  When this is turned on, a new button will appear on the schedule page.  

Clicking on the button will allow the appointment slots to be selected and a dropdown to select the new department.  


Clicking save will update the selected row to the new department.  Making the change to the department simple and easy.
