Supervising Provider - Incident To Billing
Incident to billing allows non-physician providers (NPPs) to report services “as if” they were performed by a physician. TriMed Complete allows capturing the Supervising Provider (Provider submitted on the claim) along with the Performing Provider (NPP performing the billable service).
Under the Incident to billing rules, the Supervising Provider must be present upon the premises where a service is performed. As such, the Supervising Provider may change day to day. TriMed Complete allows setting the Supervising Provider upon login and then using the Supervising Provider for all superbills created for the day. Meanwhile, the performing provider (Secondary Provider) will always be set to the logged-in user/provider (typically the NPP).
