Predict API Rx Integration

TriMed is excited to introduce the Predict API Rx Integration, a powerful enhancement that improves clinical efficiency by automatically identifying and suggesting appropriate medications based on the data entered in your HPI (History of Present Illness) fields. This automation reduces manual entry, streamlines the prescribing workflow, and supports more accurate and consistent medication selection.

To enable this feature, please contact TriMed Support!

 Setup Requirements

This feature works in conjunction with your existing template configuration.

Your practice must have Plan Diagnosis Field Mapping set up under: Admin → Templates → Template Fields → Interfaces

Once your HPI field names are configured, entering data into those fields within a patient note and then clicking the Polish icon (or clicking outside the control) will automatically trigger the Predict API Rx process.

The suggested medications are then displayed in the following locations:

Assessment & Plan > Rx Tab

Suggested medications are displayed directly within the Rx tab of the Assessment & Plan section.

Users can review details of any suggested drug and save the selected medication by clicking Done

Rx Tool – Find Drug

Within the note containing the HPI field, clicking Find in the Rx Tool displays suggested medications in the Suggested Drugs dropdown.

Users can select a suggested medication, view details and save it directly from the tool

New Rx

When opening the New Rx page, a Suggested Drugs dropdown will appear.

Users can review medication details and save the appropriate drug directly from the page

Notes:

  • Suggested medications appear on the New Rx page only when the Rx Start Date matches the Note Date that contains the HPI data.
  • If multiple notes exist for the same date with different HPI entries, the system generates suggested medications based on the HPI data from all corresponding notes.

HPI/Plan Polish

TriMed is introducing a new EHR option called HPI/Plan Polish API, designed to streamline workflows and enhance the clarity of clinical documentation.

Once this feature is enabled, the related fields can be mapped by navigating to: Admin → Templates → Template Fields → Interfaces → Plan Diagnosis Field Mapping

With this option turned on, providers can enter short phrases or shorthand notes into the HPI or Assessment & Plan fields and then click the Polish icon.

The system will automatically convert those brief inputs into a more complete and polished narrative—saving time and improving documentation quality.

Assessment & Plan Example:

If your practice would like to enable this feature or learn more about how it works, feel free to reach out to our support team!

Specimen Source on Test Codes

A new Show Specimen option and specimen dropdown have been added, allowing practices to replace free-text specimen entry with a standardized list.

To configure this feature, go to EHR Admin → Orders → Test Codes. A new 'Show Source' checkbox is now available, along with a Source field and down arrow for adding selectable values. A 'Source Associated with Test' section displays all configured source options for that test.

Show Source: When enabled, all NDC fields become disabled, and the test configuration switches to using Source values. NDC and Source settings cannot be used simultaneously.

Source: Enter the desired source text, then click the down arrow to add it as a new entry. Each entry supports up to 50 characters.

Source Associated with Test: This section lists all added source values. Each value will appear as an option in the specimen dropdown within the Lab Order UI.

When this feature is enabled, and a user adds a test code to a patient record, the system will automatically default the specimen dropdown if only one Specimen Source exists. If multiple sources are available, the user can select from the dropdown list.

Insurance on Activity Pages

Clicking the Insurance hyperlink on the Activity page opens the selected insurance plan details on the Insurance Plan tab within the Patient Details page.

Additionally, the View button has been updated to display 'View Ins Card.' If an Insurance Card chart item exists for the patient but no scanned copy of the card has been uploaded, the button will instead show 'Pending Upload.'

Insurance Card Management

TriMed has introduced a new Manage Patient Insurance Cards page that displays all active insurance cards by default and provides options to edit an insurance card’s rank or mark it as inactive.

Clicking the Payor Type hyperlink displays insurance card details below the insurance plan details. Users can view, edit, sign, or delete the card details.

Clicking the Preview tab displays a copy of the insurance card.

This page can be accessed by clicking View Ins Card on the Activity pages or the Insurance Card tab in Patient Details.

Use Email for Questions on Statements

We’ve improved the Statement Control settings in both the EHR and PM Admin modules. Practices can now specify an email address as the preferred contact method on patient statements.

Within Statement Control in both the PM and EHR, we have added a new checkbox labeled 'Use Email for Questions.' When selected, an additional text field appears where users can enter an email address (up to 50 characters) to be displayed on patient statements.

When ‘Use Email for Questions’ is checked and a valid email address is entered, the system will display that email address as the contact method for any patient inquiries on their statements.

Pending Lab Results on Widget

We have added a new 'Show Pending' filter to the Unsigned Results widget.

When this option is enabled, the widget includes a 'Pending' column that clearly indicates whether all lab results are complete or if any items are still outstanding.

This feature becomes available when the Enable Lab Results Reconciliation setting is turned on in: Admin → Global Settings → Other.

Then, on the Unsigned Results widget, enable the 'Show Pending' setting.

Once enabled, the widget displays a 'Pending' column.

This column indicates:

    •    'X of Y' — if some results are still pending

    •    'Ready' — when all ordered tests have been completed

Additionally, the result chart item continues to display the result status for further clarity.
