You will now have the ability to send workflow notifications to a specific email address without needing to reference it in the form. With this new capability, App Admins now have the flexibility to directly send workflow notifications to a static email address of their choice. 

To access this new functionality, drag on a notification step and select the "Any specific email" option. This is a great feature for when you want to send an email notification to a group email.

We have enhanced PDF naming functionality within the workflow notification feature! Previously, all downloaded PDFs were labeled as "document.pdf," causing inconvenience for users who needed to manage multiple downloads. 

To address this issue, we have implemented a unique naming system for downloaded PDFs, ensuring that users can easily locate and identify their specific files. PDFs that are downloaded from a workflow notification will now include the document number and the timestamp.

Happy Monday to you all! This post is an update on some fixes and enhancements we've made but it also serves as an explanation of how we approach accessibility (and bugs in general) at Kuali.

Noteworthy Fixes

Here are just a few of the recent noteworthy fixes and enhancements that we've recently rolled out in Build:

• Keyboard focus added/fixed on multiple navigational elements
• Error messages are now screen-reader compatible
• Some screen reader messaging (including some button labels) was unclear

We have new stuff we're fixing all the time and a couple of larger enhancements coming soon. 

Our Approach to Accessibility

If you weren't already aware, one of our software development policies is called Zero Bug. This means we try to keep our bug list to zero (or near zero) every week. We aren't always perfect at this but we do a pretty good job.

In terms of accessibility, we actually treat accessibility issues as bugs. Naturally, we try to address them before they become bugs—as part of our typical development process—but occasionally some sneak past us. When they do, we add them to our bug list and apply our Zero Bug policy liberally and with glee.

Admins can now view which apps are using a specific integration in a form field or a workflow step. An app that has used the integration in the past or is currently using the integration will appear in the list. This will allow them to see which apps are dependent on their integration before they delete them or make any changes.

 

App Admins can now configure automated reminders on an entire workflow or on a specific workflow step. Admins can choose between sending out one email reminder or reminders at regular intervals until the workflow step has been completed*

*Reminders will only be relevant for future submissions once this setting is turned on

As an App Admin, you can now set up specific dates for when an app is open for submissions. So go ahead, take it for a spin and schedule away!

All system settings can now be found under the same "System Settings" menu item for System Admins. This includes settings for integrations, branding, and permissions.

Branding is a new feature that allows you to configure your own form and email branding for your apps.

Users and Groups are being combined into one People and Groups setting for System Admins. We’ve improved the user interface and added an “Admin” role to every group. 

Major changes to this new setting:
- “Categories” are now “Blueprints.” 
- "Users” are now “People”
- Group administrators will now be able to distribute the administration of their Groups. Each group can have a Group Administrator assigned to it. Group administrators will be able to add users to roles, create child groups and edit the name of their group. 
Empower your group admins to manage their own groups! 

We've added a timestamp gadget as an integration output. The integration timestamp will allow you to output a timestamp on a form - from an integration - in a user-friendly way (Month, Day, Year).
