🏷 Label Image Challenge Screen Overhaul

Today we released an amazing update to the label image challenge!  It's been completely redesigned from the ground up making it easier to create, and simpler for your learners to take.

The Label image challenge is perfect for testing the knowledge of your learners on any number of subjects.

This screen allows you to present your learners with an image, and labels that need to be dragged to the correct positions. If a learner answers correctly, they will receive a ‘correct’ feedback popup, and be able to move onto the next screen. If a learner answers incorrectly, they will receive an ‘incorrect’ feedback pop, and a prompt to retry.

πŸ”˜ Form Challenge Screen Update

The Form challenge screen has finally received a much needed upgrade. Functionality remains the same, but we've made it easier to create, and designed it in a way that is consistent with the rest of our course screens.

Haven't used the Form challenge before?

As you'd expect, the Form challenge allows you to use a number of form elements to create a challenge for your learners. A challenge is a screen that must be completed by the learner.

State your question with a description, or label a form element to support a series of questions that can be created using a variation of Radio buttons, Dropdown select options, and text inputs.

Advanced settings

From the advanced settings menu you can re-order the elements anyway you like. You can also switch on 'Lock step' to force learners to answer each question sequentially.

πŸ“” Brand New Cover Screen!

Today we relaunched the Lesson finish screen as the Cover screen!

The Cover screen not only serves the purpose of the old Finish screen, it can also be used at the start of a lesson or at the start of a topic. In fact, you can use it anywhere you feel you want to introduce a new idea.

Cover screen features

We've included a range of options that allow you to make these screens really stand out.

Show/Hide screen elements

There are a number of new elements included with this screen that can be turned on or off to best suit your needs. These optional elements include:

Optional time estimate: give your learners an idea of how long this section could take to complete.

Optional description: If you're using the Cover screen as a title screen, you may not need a description.

Optional button:  Display a button with customisable text and navigation options. You can have your button navigate to the next screen (default), a custom URL, or another module in your course.

Alignment options

Align text left, right, or centred. Use additional image options to align images to the left, right, or as a background image.

Use animated gifs as a background image to create spectacular layouts that will delight your learners.

Background color options

When setting the background color, the text elements and button colors change dynamically so that they are readable no matter if you have a light or dark background.

What happens to my existing screens?

If you've used the old finish screen, you don't need to worry, we haven't changed the layouts — they will look exactly as you left them.

If you want to update them to the new layout, all you need to do is go to your screen in the course builder and click the 'Edit to update' button. Note, once you've changed the layout, there is no turning back. But trust us, you won't want to once you've tried it!

Document Upload Screen Update

The Document Upload screen has been refreshed to bring it in line with the Coassemble design system.

If you're unfamiliar with this screen type, then now is a good time to check it out. It's a versatile lesson screen that has many uses including:

  • Ask learners upload signed documents that can be accessed from the course report
  • Can be used as an alternative for assignments that don't require grading
  • Ask learners upload evidence that they have completed an offline task

For more detail, you can check out the help article here.
