The Hive now supports Minecraft version 1.21 ("Tricky Trials"), which releases June 13th.

We are removing support for the following versions, as future Hive updates require features/changes not available in these versions:

• 1.20.50/1.20.51
• 1.20.60/1.20.62

For the best experience, we recommend playing on the most recent version, which is currently 1.20.81.

Our new and improved website leaderboards are now available! In addition to the in-game /leaderboards commands, you can now access the monthly and all-time leaderboards on our PlayHive.com website.

A new update is deploying to SkyWars on all regions. This update adds weekly items and four brand new maps!

• SkyWars: Kits does not currently have weekly items enabled, but may do in the future

Developer note: We'll keep the weekly items a secret for now! Once they have all been revealed in-game, we will update our support website with more detailed information.

A new version of BedWars is being deployed to all regions. This version adds custom server options, and a brand new cosmetic: Projectile Trails.

Custom Server Options

The following custom server options have been added:

Generators

• Team Generator spawn rate modifier
• Team Generator upgrade cost modifier
• World Generator spawn rate modifier

Team

• Enable/disable team upgrades

Shop

• Item price modifier (including free shop option)

General Gameplay

• Maximum health
• Health on kill
• Keep inventory
• No beds
• No sudden death

New Cosmetic: Projectile Trails

A new cosmetic has been added: Projectile Trails. These are particle effects that leave a trail behind any projectile owned by a player, including turret arrows. 

We have retroactively added 6 trail unlocks to the current levels:

• Level 5: Blue Swirls
• Level 10: Pink Swirls
• Level 18: Green Swirls
• Level 27: Yellow Swirls
• Level 35: Red Swirls
• Level 45: Purple Swirls

Treasure Wars Replacement Cosmetics

Additionally, this update contains the final entitlement replacement cosmetics from Treasure Wars.

A new update is deploying to BedWars across all regions. This update enables daily challenges, and adds two new season challenges.

Daily Challenges

• 3 challenges are picked each day
• Daily challenges are the same for all players
• Daily challenges refresh at 00:00 UTC
• Daily challenges each grant 100XP

Developer note: We hope daily challenges will be a fun way to gain extra XP while playing BedWars. Please note this system is in beta and thus some bugs may be present; we're monitoring and will fix any issues that arise ASAP!

Season Challenges

• Added "Restless - Destroy 50 beds" rewarding 500xp and 1 challenge medal
• Added "Pearl Jumper - Ender Pearl teleport 100 times" rewarding 500xp and 1 challenge medal

Developer note: We'll continue to add more season challenges, along with more rewards, periodically throughout the season.

Seasons

Developer note: We have more seasonal challenges, as well as daily challenges on the way. Right now we're focusing on monitoring the data to ensure the extra challenges are balanced and fair.

General Changes

• Increased max level to 50
• Enabled modern map voting UI
• Added BedWars bundle
• Increased game time limit to 25 minutes
• Turrets now show a health bar when damaged
• Turrets are now damageable with arrows
• Turrets can now be picked up by the player who placed them, as long as they are undamaged
• Added icons to the team upgrade bench UI

New Items

Developer note: We hope you enjoy the new version of "Bridge Builders", the "Bridge Placer". In our testing, this felt much more fluid and intuitive to use. Also, do not fear, we are actively working on bringing boomboxes back to BedWars!

XP Changes

• Increased final kill XP to 15, from 10
• Increased bed destroy XP to 15, from 10
• Increased victory XP to 40, from 30

Economy Changes

• Diamond Armor has been changed to use multiple currencies, now requiring 4 emeralds and 32 diamonds to purchase
• Reduced the cost of Golden Apples to 20 gold, from 30

Developer note:  We'll have more balance changes coming soon! We'll be tweaking the economy often, especially after adding new items.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed a bug where the knockback from turrets was based on the position of the player who placed it
• Fixed a bug preventing spectators from getting the "report player" item
• Fixed a bug where non-custom games starting with 1 team would not end until the time limit was reached
• Fixed various replay bugs (more on the way!)
