We love to see our API being used by members of our community to create awesome tools and apps to display statistics and leaderboards!

To continue to enable talented members of our community to make cool things, we've made some changes to the data that can be retrieved with our API:

• Information about a player's rank, first join date, and login streak can now be retrieved
• Players' statistics for all games can now be retrieved with a single request
• Cumulative player counts for the server and each of our games can now be retrieved

Additionally, the API should now be much more responsive, and the previous rate limit has been doubled. For specific details, please check out the documentation.

Edit: We're aware of an issue affecting some players causing them to not recieve the reward. We're aware of this and we are working on a fix. Anyone that completes the hunt will be guaranteed to receive their item.

The Hive will be down for global maintenance today, April 3rd. During this time, all regions are unavailable.

During this time, we are making multiple backend and infrastructure changes. Because of this, we have no set ending time for this maintenance. We appreciate your patience and will be back online as soon as we can.

In addition to nonpublic facing changes, the following minor changes and improvements are releasing:

• Added the /joinfriend (/jf) command
• The current XP reward, from login streaks, now shows the correct number for streaks under 11 days
• Fixed party invites revealing players appearing offline
• Fixed various commands revealing player nicknames
• The party invite command is now case-insensitive
• Various error messages are now properly translated, rather than always being in English
• Fixed the /party and /friend commands having the same "tab completions"/command suggestions, despite having different subcommands
• Resolved a potential kick when modifying multiple preferences in BlockParty
• Implemented a speculative fix, which should resolve Custom Server presets not loading at times

A new update is deploying to all regions. This update brings a seasonal hub, a new DeathRun map, and something very dangerous.

A new DeathRun update has been deployed to all regions. This update brings a new map, Synthwave, and adds new map functionality.

Developer note: We understand that DeathRun is a game dependent on content. Our level designers have been working hard to create new maps, with two more in active development. We aim to release another map, including a new trap, next week.

We're planning on making some changes to the versions of Minecraft we support, and want to hear your feedback!

To preface this article, we are not removing support for non-RenderDragon versions at this time.

After reviewing community feedback last year, we decided to continue to support 1.18 versions of Minecraft for as long as we could, to allow the small minority of players that use 1.18 for valid reasons to continue to have a good experience playing on The Hive.

Several new versions of the game have been released since our decision in October, and we are now having to support over 20 different versions of the game. Naturally, having to support so many versions has led to a significant amount of additional work for our developers.

The vast majority of our players use the most recent version of Minecraft. Our data also shows that the small minority who are still using version 1.18 are primarily playing with version 1.18.12.

To ensure that we can continue supporting older clients to our high standards, we're wanting to reduce the range of client versions we support. This allows us to plan around a known set of clients, making development and testing easier. To achieve this, we plan to discontinue support for all versions except the following:

• 1.18.10, 1.18.11, and 1.18.12
• 1.19.70, 1.19.71, and 1.19.72 (latest release)
