It's time for a new content update to Treasure Wars, bringing new unlocks, new features, and new maps!

Gameplay

25 New Levels

We've increased the level cap from 50 to 75.

• New unlock category: Final Kill Phrase
• 9 new treasures
• 5 new bridge builders
• 4 new hub titles
• 3 new avatars
• 1 new costume

New Item: Golden Apples

Golden Apples are now available from the merchant! Hurry though, as he only has a limited stock per game. First come, first serve.

Summoner Sharing

Gold summoners now share equally between nearby players, ensuring everyone gets their fair share!

Minimum Play Height

We've heard your concerns about out-of-bounds campers. All maps now have a minimum play height. Being below this height for too long will result in damage, and ultimately, death.

Improved Messaging

• Treasure breaks are now announced in chat
• Final kills are now announced in chat

• Trios/Squads: Cyberspace
• Trios/Squads: Pirates
• Mega: Sakura

All Hive regions will be going down for scheduled maintenance this Friday, the 24th of April, at:

• 8AM UTC / 9AM BST / 10 AM CEST (European timezones)
• 1AM PDT / 2AM MDT / 3AM CDT / 4AM EDT (American timezones)
• 4PM SGT / 5PM JST

This update/maintenance will bring both visible and 'invisible' changes. Relevant changelogs will be posted during/after the maintenance. We have no set end time for this maintenance.

We have made the following changes to improve FPS on the most recent Minecraft hotfix:

• Character Creator skins are now disabled by default in hubs. Want to see them anyway? Use the /toggleperformance command
• Character Creator skins are disabled for Nintendo Switch players on all hubs and games

We will revert the above changes if and when Minecraft resolves the core performance issues with Chracter Creator skins.

We are testing a new datacenter for our Asia region. Our goal is to improve stability, especially at peak times.

We're aware of bad client performance/FPS since the latest Minecraft update/hotfix. Here's what we're doing about it:

• We're fully disabling Character Creator skins on Nintendo Switch. These skins are causing skin rendering to fully halt, turning everything including our NPC's into Steve skins.
• We're adding a toggle for all other platforms to enable/disable receiving Character Creator skins. Using this toggle will improve client performance / FPS.
• We're providing Microsoft with feedback on these regressions and will push for a future hotfix to resolve these issues. We also urge the community to let Minecraft know these issues are negatively impacting their Minecraft experience.

We will publish another post once we've rolled out the above changes.

Mojang has released Minecraft Hotfix 1.14.60. Please note the following changes:

• Custom Geometry is now blocked in multiplayer session (does NOT affect Hive costumes - read more HERE)
• You won't be able to see Character Creator skins from players not on this hotfix.
• Character Creator skins may load slower - we expect this to be resolved in a future update

We are following Microsoft policy and recommendations regarding custom geometry and player safety. These changes are not up for debate with Hive staff. Yelling at our volunteer staff will have no impact.

Ground Wars

Snow Wars is back! However, the snow is gone, so we borrowed some eggs from the Easter Bunny. There's also 3 brand new maps to play on!

Fight for control over the map by gaining territory with each egg 'kill'. Protect yourself and your teammates by building defensive structures. Take control over the whole map to win!

Ground Wars is a limited time mode - however, we expect it to stick around until at least the end of the Summer. We'll evaluate this over time based on it's player count.
