Welcome to the new kiosk mode 🤩

We've been working on ways to improve your customers' experience when they sign up from a kiosk. Here's what cooking 🍳

1. After signing up, customers won't be able to stay on the confirmation page but will automatically be redirected to the start page so the kiosk is ready for the next person to sign up.

2. The "powered by Waitwhile" text is not clickable, in order to ensure your customers stay on the right page.

3. We've removed recaptcha from kiosk mode, so your customers won't experience any recaptcha related failures.

Just make sure that in your kiosks, you're using the specific kiosk URL. It should include ?kiosk=true at the end of the URL.

--> You can find it in Settings > Public > Join Waitlist > Kiosk registration

Ticket number for your guest experience 🎟️

We have some awesome news! Ticket numbers on the public pages have now been officially launched!

Ever wanted to have your customers sign up to your waitlist or make a booking without providing any personal data? Now you can! 🎉

This is how to set it up:

1. Go to Settings > Customers > Input fields

2. Scroll down to "Display fields", and toggle on "Show ticket ID for customer". This will make sure both your staff see it internally on the waitlist/booking pages, as well as your customers seeing it on their end when signing up.

3. You're all set! Your customers will now receive a ticket number if they sign up to a waitlist or make a booking.

No more manual version updates ✌️

We've been super busy over the last few weeks, and we're excited to share our updates! 🎉

We've now changed the way our version updates work ⚡️. In the past, you would receive a banner at the top of the product where you'd have to click the update button to get the newest version.

Now, we're handling that automatically for you! So any time you navigate to a new page or refresh your page, we'll automatically make sure you get the newest version.

Say goodbye to manual updates, you won't be missed 👋

Customize Resources & Services through our API

We have now launched meta attributes for services and resources! 🤩

This will allow you to use our API to store custom data about services and resources that isn't standard within Waitwhile. This could be anything you like, such as staff data coming from your CRM system or discounts for services for example.

Read more about it in our developer guide.

New User Account Settings

The Waitwhile interface has updated for the better, but just in case the new layout leaves you feeling like you're on a treasure hunt, we want to make sure you have a clear map.

In your Account settings you'll notice that "Billing" and "Integrations" have gone missing. Not to worry, they've simply moved over to your Settings under "Account" and "Developers."

Registration flow update ✨

We’re on a quest to optimize Waitwhile and its customizability for your businesses, and we’re excited to tell you about our newest improvement.

To date, once a guest completed registration they were redirected back to the Welcome Screen. This experience was built for “kiosks” where multiple guests use the same device. However, many of your guests are joining the waitlist or making a booking from their own phones via QR code or SMS.

Going live tomorrow, we’ve improved the Waitwhile experience with these users in mind.

What you need to know:

  • In your new Settings under Public > Join Waitlist > Kiosk registration you’ll find your “Kiosk URLs”
  • If you’re using Waitwhile public pages on a “kiosk” device, update the URL to include “?kiosk=true”
  • If you don’t use kiosks in your customer flow, no problem. Make sure you toggle on the “Online registration” option under Public > Join Waitlist Online > Registration

-> Ready to customize? Let’s go!

Welcome Screen update 👋

Transparency and convenience are the cornerstones of communication when it comes to a positive customer experience. With that in mind, we've updated the Bookings Welcome Screen to include an important note as a courtesy to your customers: When no booking times are available for the next 30 days.

This will allow your customers to plan accordingly and optimally interact with your business. The best part: Your Welcome Screen will automatically update to include this disclaimer when the time is right, you don't have to even think about it.

-> Check out your Bookings
