HYPERDRIVE CRM UPDATE - Sorting manual and system notes

By default, the contact card notes display the MANUAL NOTES (comments added by a Hyperdrive user)

To see the SYSTEM NOTES, just tick the "Include System Notes" box. (The option you choose will be saved unless you modify it.)

Note: Even if you don't include system notes in your view, the note count will always include both manual and system notes.

SMS - Don't Forget To Include Opt-Out Or You'll Get Paused

TIP 1:  Include The Opt-Out Text In Every SMS 
Please do not forget to check the box that says.. "Opt-out reply STOP." when sending text messages to your customer. If you do not do this then your campaign will automatically be paused once it hits the phone carriers.


Previously we sent your campaigns and then what would happen is the phone carriers would not deliver your message if it did not include this.  This approach was misleading because some messages did not get sent.  Now with this new system it will automatically stop your campaign from sending if you do not have these opt out messages. 

TIP 2:Use OurURL Shortner Not Bitly or TinyURL
If your texting a URL do not use Bitly or TinyRUl to shorten it, instead use our URL shortner as those can get flagged for spam.

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
We are always looking for ways to innovate and help our customers sell more products.  More dealers are looking for ways to virtually connect with their customers.  The United States is changing their cell phone texting rules next year and things are getting much more "strict" than they have been previously. Because of this we need to comply with several polices beyond just "opt-in" rules and all numbers must be 10DLC ready including our shared pool of numbers. 

WE RECOMMEND YOU REGISTER FOR A 10DLC NUMBER BEFORE IT GETS BUSY
The 10DLC is a special phone number that is provided by cell phone carries that ensure you can send a mass text to cell phones without getting blocked or delayed.

HOW TO SETUP YOUR 10DLC PHONE NUMBER
We recommend setting up your own 10DLC number for a fee of $500 and a monthly maintenance fee of $40. This is 100% optional with the carriers but it will help your deliverability increase, otherwise there could be a chance that your text could be delayed when scheduled by the carriers.

ABOUT 10DLC NUMBERS AND HOW "TRUST SCORES" WORK
With 10DLC (10-digit long codes), you can send high volumes of messages from a local number. It has been specially designed and sanctioned for business messaging. We’ll help you submit information about your brand and use case to receive a trust score which will determine how many messages you can send per day.  Pre-existing long codes will be required to update to 10DLC. A 10DLC number is essentially a local 10-digit phone number that can support higher volumes of text messages.

3 OF THE MOST COMMON ISSUES WHEN SENDING MASS SMS TEXT

  • You need to slow down your sending, as you may send a maximum of 1 SMS per second and per virtual number in the US due to local carriers regulations. If you send messages more quickly, the message(s) will be rejected.

  • Maximum of 250 messages per day and per long virtual number. If this is exceeded carriers will block your number and will no longer work.

  • Repetitive URL's and keywords in the SMS body of long codes will be blocked by the carriers.

UPDATE - Text Marketing is Updating On Dec 1st

No action needs to be taken, you'll automatically be upgraded to the latest Verizon of sms marketing by December 1st.  However if you are having problems with sending sms messages and noticing that some messages are being delayed or not sent please contact us and we will upgrade you earlier.  

WHY ARE WE UPGRADING THE SMS MARKETING SYSTEM
Starting November 15th, 2021, ATT, Verizon, T-Mobile, and US Cellular have changed their sms text anti-spam filter rules, impacting specific customers who are using long codes. These rules are now causing some SMS messages not to be delivered or may result in unacceptable delays or possible blocks.

These changes with the carriers were scheduled for January 1st, 2022, but we have noticed some dealers are experiencing these changes early. Previously if your customers "opt-in" to SMS, the cell phone carriers would not apply a "spam filter check" to your messages. That is no longer the case. 

Since this is now happening, it is causing some text messages to be delayed or even blocked since one of the filters that are used are.... 

"do not allow messages to be sent more than 1 time per month from the same 10 digit number for marketing purposes".  

So anyone who tries to send a message more than once a month would violate this spam rule and potentially get blocked.  

It was our understanding that these changes were not going to happen until January 1st, 2022. Our plans where to migrated all customers to a platform that could support number rotation which would comply with this unique rule that is causing people  to be blocked. 

If you would like to migrate to our new text platform supports number rotation early at no additional cost, don't hesitate to get in touch with us at 414-326-4100.  Otherwise will will automatically upgrade you by Dec 1st, no additional action is needed on your part unless you are experiencing issues now with sending and wish to upgraded early.   Alternatively, you can also purchase a "shortcode marketing number" from the carriers starting at $500 per month and we can easily port it to your account.

Birthday Assistant - Run a Workflow

The Birthday Assistant will now trigger a Workflow. This will allow you to do more with the Birthday Assistant, including changing the time of the email sending, have multiple emails go out, etc.


New Email Template Sort Option

When you click to add an email template, the email templates are currently sorted alphabetically. You will not have the option to change the sort to a date sort. This will allow the newest templates you add to show first. If you want the sort to be this way by default, let me know and I can change it for your users, otherwise, it is optional per session.

COVID-19 IDEAS How To Use Webinar To Promote Your Business During COVID-19

How is your business doing during these trying times? Understandably, many events and trade shows have been canceled because of the global Covid-19 pandemic. It has forced many businesses to pivot their marketing plans and strategies to find different ways of promoting their products and services. 

One of the ways for businesses to promote themselves and demonstrate their products and services in this time of crisis is through Webinars. What is a Webinar? The term comes from the words “web seminar” which means to conduct a seminar using an online platform to promote your business and to connect with a targeted audience. It usually comes with a presentation followed by a “Question and Answer” session. 

How does it work? First, you will want to find a Webinar host; preferably someone who is an expert on a topic that you want to present.  When planning on what topic to discuss, it should be relevant to the product you are trying to sell.  We also suggest creating a catchy title and image to help promote the webinar; something that grabs and engages the audience. You also want to consider the technology that you will be using for the presentation itself.  We suggest making your webinar interactive so be sure to choose a Webinar hosting platform that allows you to share videos, audio, and slides.  

How do you make your Webinar successful? We suggest setting up a registration page so you know who is going to attend the event and also make sure to grab contact information to help with lead generation.  Be sure to include the title and description of the webinar and highlight the expertise of the presenter. We also suggest you include what topics the webinar will cover and what attendees should expect to learn.  It may also be helpful to include the duration of the webinar itself.  We suggest keeping it to less than an hour long.  You may also want to consider providing a reward for attendees like a free marketing trinket or a small discount on products or services you are promoting and provide them with motivation to act fast. 

To help promote the webinar and boost attendance, we suggest sending out invitations to your existing customers and/or prospects via email blast.  It may also help to create a banner on your company’s website or use your existing social media platforms to promote the Webinar with information on how to sign up and attend.  

After the webinar, make sure to utilize the registration information to follow up with your audience.  We suggest recording a video of the presentation and emailing out a link so the attendee can view it on-demand. Make sure to always ask for feedback and suggestions and remember it is always best to follow up with a direct phone call! 

Marketing webinars are an effective tool that has helped a lot of businesses promote their products and services and ultimately make more sales.  It’s a unique way to get your message in front of your customers and prospects without having to be face to face during this global pandemic.  With a little bit of planning and consideration, you too can run a successful Webinar and we are here to help.
