Discover companies across 25 new buzzwords including Autonomous Vehicles, Cloud Computing, Femtech and Synthetic Biology

Today we are adding 25 new buzzwords to the platform to make it easier for you to track and understand trends across a variety of industries including consumer goods & services, agriculture, B2B services, construction and many more.

Buzzwords are our way of identifying and tracking interesting trends that don’t fit into a normal sector classification such as those sitting at the intersection of two sectors (e.g. Agritech), a similar common theme spanning multiple sectors (e.g. Gig Economy or FemTech) or exciting and emerging trends within a sector (Cloud computing). We will keep adding new buzzwords as new trends emerge.

There may even be some new company rankings on the cards… Stay tuned!

These can be used along side our existing 50 buzzwords across all our tracked companies in search to find the most relevant companies and are displayed on each company’s profile page.

Find Criteria Faster in Advanced Search πŸƒπŸ’¨

It’s now easier than ever to find the criteria you’re looking for to build your Advanced Search query!

Criteria have now been grouped and ordered under new headings so it’s easier to find and remember where your most important criteria sit.

“Sectors” and “Buzzwords” for example, now sit under “What the company does” and “Employee count” under “People”. Whereas Name and Location sit outside of a group at the top of the list, as they’re often your first criteria for starting a query.

If you have any feedback please don't hesitate to get in touch, and don’t forget there’s a new search bar above the list if you want to jump straight to a criteria you have in mind.

πŸš€ Customise and Sort your Advanced Search Results

We've just released one of the most requested features to the platform!

We’ve been talking to lots of our customers about how we can help you get more out of search to find the companies you care about with more speed, clarity and confidence. Today we release our first version of customisable columns which should help you…

- Better understand your search results

Save time by viewing key financial and fundraising information on a company to understand if they are relevant before diving into their full profile.

- Focus on what matters

Remove and reorder columns so you can focus on only the most important information when reviewing your results.

- Find the most relevant companies by sorting

You can now order the results by all of our new data points so you can quickly prioritise your work to the most interesting companies first.

All of this means you can spend less time exporting and repeat-searching for the right results and more time acting on the data you know is valuable.

Search Over Electoral Wards and ConstituenciesπŸ“

Many of our clients working at Local Authorities and LEPs use Beauhurst to offer targeted support to businesses operating in their local communities. Today, we have made finding these businesses even easier, enabling search by UK Parliamentary Constituencies and Electoral Wards.

You can search across both of these using the existing "Location" criteria in advanced search. Just like existing location searching using Local Authority or postcode, this works across all address types.

People with Significant Control (PSC) data now available

Today we have released People with Significant Control (PSC) data for all UK companies to help you run compliance checks on companies you are interested in.

Since 2016, businesses in the UK have been required to notify Companies House of all individuals and corporate entities that have significant influence or control over their operations. This can cover a range of influences including ownership, voting rights, appointments of directors and other more general control over the company’s activities which is useful for due diligence as it goes beyond basic shareholding information.

We report on each individual and the various types of control they have on the company in the “People” tab.

You might find many many companies have no person registered with significant control. This is likely because be no individual or entity that meets the minimum reporting requirements (e.g. If no shareholder owns more than a 25% stake in the company)
