🚀 Customise and Sort your Advanced Search Results

We've just released one of the most requested features to the platform!

We’ve been talking to lots of our customers about how we can help you get more out of search to find the companies you care about with more speed, clarity and confidence. Today we release our first version of customisable columns which should help you…

- Better understand your search results

Save time by viewing key financial and fundraising information on a company to understand if they are relevant before diving into their full profile.

- Focus on what matters

Remove and reorder columns so you can focus on only the most important information when reviewing your results.

- Find the most relevant companies by sorting

You can now order the results by all of our new data points so you can quickly prioritise your work to the most interesting companies first.

All of this means you can spend less time exporting and repeat-searching for the right results and more time acting on the data you know is valuable.

Search Over Electoral Wards and Constituencies📍

Many of our clients working at Local Authorities and LEPs use Beauhurst to offer targeted support to businesses operating in their local communities. Today, we have made finding these businesses even easier, enabling search by UK Parliamentary Constituencies and Electoral Wards.

You can search across both of these using the existing "Location" criteria in advanced search. Just like existing location searching using Local Authority or postcode, this works across all address types.

Doing everything you can in a private collection… but together!

🏷 New Collaborative Collection-specific tags mean that you can easily stay aligned, as your team explores the companies within a Collaborative Collection 🏷

🦖 Keep track of the changes with the new history panel 🦖

📄Set up Collections in all the same ways without having to replicate your colleagues' 📄

Set-up is super simple

Collaborative Collections can be created in the same way as any Collection! All you have to do is select the collaborative type during creation.

Pick up where you left off

Don’t lose all the work you’ve put into a Collection, simply select “Collaborative” with your collection's settings and our smart transfer system will convert your Collection, maintaining all of your tags and items but allowing your team to continue the work alongside you.

A new world of opportunities for you and your team!

🔨 Build together 🔨

Making a list of interesting companies on Beauhurst has never been easier: collaborate with your colleague by adding and removing companies from the same Collection, to build the ultimate list.

🎯 Coordinate 🎯

With the new Collection type, we’re also introducing a new tagging system to go alongside Collaborative Collections. These tags will just apply to the specific Collection you’re working on. It’s great to all sing off the same hymn sheet.

📌 Why not… Create a pipeline for your team. Within a Collaborative Collection, you can set up tags to indicate which stage a company is in and who should be owning the interaction. Now you only need to import qualified leads into your CRM.

Keeping track of these changes is a breeze, just click on the history panel to understand what’s changed:

We would love to know what you think of Collaborative Collections! Book a call with our product team any time.

People with Significant Control (PSC) data now available

Today we have released People with Significant Control (PSC) data for all UK companies to help you run compliance checks on companies you are interested in.

Since 2016, businesses in the UK have been required to notify Companies House of all individuals and corporate entities that have significant influence or control over their operations. This can cover a range of influences including ownership, voting rights, appointments of directors and other more general control over the company’s activities which is useful for due diligence as it goes beyond basic shareholding information.

We report on each individual and the various types of control they have on the company in the “People” tab.

You might find many many companies have no person registered with significant control. This is likely because be no individual or entity that meets the minimum reporting requirements (e.g. If no shareholder owns more than a 25% stake in the company)

Gender Pay Gap Data Now Available

Today we released the Government Equalities Office gender pay gap data on all qualifying UK companies. This data is available to all Beauhurst subscribers

Discover companies that need your help

Use difference in hourly pay in advanced search either to discover companies that might need your support in closing the gap or shining examples of companies that drive equal pay across their workforce

Don't forget: You can use our recent criteria search improvements to help find it!

Deep dive into the pay distribution of a single company

Using the “People” tab on a company page you can go beyond average hourly pay and understand the difference in bonuses and gender distribution across pay quartiles too. This can help unpick some of the reasons why there may be a difference in average pay.

Every company in the UK with more than 250 full time employees has to report each year, and smaller companies can chose to report too. This means our All Company Data subscribers have gender pay gap data on over 11,000 companies!

New Criteria Search Bar 🔍

Introducing the new criteria search bar, type the name of what you’re looking for and jump straight to the relevant data point.

If you have used advanced search you will know we have a lot of criteria to choose from to zero in on the companies, people, fundraisings etc you are most interested in. (and we keep adding more!)

We know building that perfect query can be a daunting task, so we are working on making it as easy as possible to discover new criteria and reuse your old favourites.

We are starting by making our list of available criteria searchable. Just start typing after clicking add criteria and you will see all matching entries. The search works both on the criteria themselves and any category they may be present in e.g. "Financial statement".

Click the down arrow next to a category to see all available criteria even if they don't match your search term.

Search across 300k+ company descriptions

We’ve just launched a new experimental dataset, allowing our All Company Data subscribers to search across more than 300,000 company descriptions (8x our current number of tracked businesses).

  • Effortlessly discover relevant companies that match your keyword searches
  • Understand prospective clients and partners in their own words, before deciding if they are worth pursuing
  • Go beyond the existing Beauhurst-tracked companies to find UK businesses of all sizes, stages and sectors

How it works

We gather each description from the company’s website, allowing businesses to express themselves in their own words. These descriptions are then filtered with an algorithm, to ensure only the most descriptive and helpful ones make it onto the platform.

How you can use it

If we hold a description from a website, you’ll find it on the “Basic Details” tab of a company page.

This gives you a richer understanding of the businesses you are interested in. For example, before today, we would have known Chillchain Ltd is in the road freight business (thanks to its SIC code), its financials, and where it is based. But, until now, we didn’t know about its European coverage, its logistics platform, or its refrigerated offerings.

By combining keyword search with the other data we hold on these 300k companies, you can also zero in on the businesses that are most interesting to you, such as finding other refrigerated road freight businesses.

Currently, you can search these descriptions using the standalone “Description from company website” criteria in Advanced Search.

Experimental data

Our samples suggest high accuracy and reliability, whilst still providing significant scale at over 300k descriptions, but we are releasing this data under a new experimental flag. You will start to see this experimental icon around the platform, as we work to get new datasets in your hands faster.

With this new approach to data collection and processing, we want to ensure we have the right balance between scale and quality, so we look forward to hearing your thoughts. Your feedback means we can iterate and improve our data more rapidly too. Win win!

Who can use it

This data is available to all subscribers of our All Company Data add-on. If you don’t have access to this just yet, get in touch with your Account Manager today!

Improved Quick Searching

We’ve made the Beauhurst Quick Search bar at the top of every page more powerful to help you find what you need.

‘Fuzzy search’ will return results for text that match a term closely instead of exactly. Fuzzy searches help you find relevant results even when the search terms are missing the right characters. For example, if you misspelled ‘Beauhurst ‘as ‘Both hurst’ your results will be:

This means if you only loosely know the name of the company, fund, or person, we can do a better job at returning what you’re looking for.

In addition, if you miss or add Limited, LTD, PLC, hyphens or spaces to your search, we’ll still have a good idea of what you’re searching for based on the other characters in the search.

Happy searching! 🔍
