May's update is here!
From all four of us at Gimkit, thank you for your support and here's to summer break, which is just around the corner! 💜
From all four of us at Gimkit, thank you for your support and here's to summer break, which is just around the corner! 💜
😎Summer's around the corner!
With that, we're bringing back a favorite powerup for a limited time: The Summer Song!
Students can use this powerup to play an upbeat tune to set the summer mood.
The Summer Song is available now in all game modes except Come Back until the end of June!
It's Teacher Appreciation Week and we want to give a big thank you! 🎉
But a simple thank you isn't enough, especially this year.
While we get to sit in air-conditioned rooms, clicking and pressing keys, you all have had to teach through a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic.
So, for Teacher Appreciation Week, we're starting a new program that will last much longer than just a week. We call it GiveKit.
With GiveKit, we're donating $500 in funding every single month to help pay for your school materials, first aid kits, tech tools, furniture. Whatever it might be to help you and your students.
To kickstart things, for this week only, we'll be giving $500 a day.
You can learn more about GiveKit and apply here!
Again, from all four of us here, thank you. We're wishing you the best for the end of the school year. You got this!
With the brand new Come Back mode, your students can purchase and use all removed powerups.
Yep, that also includes music powerups!
Like all new modes, Come Back will be available for a limited time. After some time out of the game, it'll be back as a Forever Mode.
Think of our new mode releases like theatrical movie releases; it's here for a bit, it's gone for a bit, then it's back forever!
Hop in and have fun with all the wacky and fun powerups no longer available in core modes!
Question repetition has been one of Gimkit Live's defining features since the beginning. And because repetition is such a big part of Gimkit Live, improving the way questions repeat has become the most requested feature in our feedback center.
Thanks to all of those suggestions and upvotes we built Smart Repetition, which repeats questions students answered incorrectly more frequently and is available in Gimkit Live now.
Check out Josh's video (above) to learn more about why we built Smart Repetition and how it works!
We're excited to release a new accessibility feature for Gimkit Live called Read to Me!
With Read to Me, your students can choose to have questions and answers read aloud. This should make Gimkit Live games more accessible for more of your students!
Read to Me is controlled by students inside of Gimkit Live. So, as the teacher, there's nothing for you to do, turn on, or select.

For this mode only, we're skipping taking Draw That away after a limited run, as we do with most modes. Instead, we're making it a Forever Mode right away!
Forever Modes are modes that are available in Gimkit Live for, well, ever!
With the end of the school year coming up fast, we wanted to give you as much time with Draw That as possible. You can now play Draw That whenever you want without worrying about it going away or being unavailable.
You can play Draw That just like you have been. Simply click "Play" for the Kit you want to use and then select Draw That on the game mode selection screen.
If you haven't tried Draw That yet, check out our blog post, which walks you through everything.
Enjoy Draw That for the rest of the school year and keep sharing those drawings in the student art gallery!
