WHY OUR UPGRADES HAVE BEEN DELAYED BY TWO WEEKS
We wanted to take a moment and thank you all for your patience over these past few weeks while we worked through a few issues that have caused delays in our normal weekly update schedule. As many of you know, our primary development team is located in Ukraine. A recent war-driven event there has impacted our development team, causing us to fall behind in our weekly updates. We do have secondary teams in Asia and the US. However, this has caused us to fall behind schedule for several weeks.

As of today, June 10th, 2024, we are now back to being 100%!



GET READY - THE UPDATES ARE COMING

  1. AXS QUEUE - IDENTITY SHEILD
    Some of you have reported problems with AXS queues and waiting rooms not properly separating your identity during on sale events.  This problem has been fixed and scheduled for release next week.

  2. DECISION MAKER BUG FIXES - CHROME SUPPORT
    Currently decision maker only works in classic mode and it does not work for all shopping carts. So we are fixing that bug and making sure it works for all browsers.

  3. PROVIDING PUBLIC API FOR ACCOUNTS & ZAPIER SUPPORT 
    We are going to be providing a public API for anyone who wishes to use it which will low ou to create and manage accounts automatically via APIs and any standard Zapier webhooks or REST api calls.

  4. AIR TABLE ACCOUNT SYNC, PLUS PRIVATE CARDS APP SYNC
    Do you keep accounts updated in air table then sync those accounts with Private Tabs.  Well we can save you some steps because you'll be able to automatically both AirTable and others

You're Unblocked & Back Online - Let's Go!

If you had trouble logging into Private Tabs this afternoon (May 30th), you're back in business and 100% unblocked!  This includes Chrome Engine and Classic Engine Browsers!

WHAT HAPPENED 
If you followed our earlier post today, we mentioned that the TM website is routing some folks to dead servers in its network, making it appear that they are misconfigured or a proxy. This causes sessions to lock and time out, which creates endless spinners, and our classic mode is not even loading because it can't do its login health check. 

How rude, so we fixed it for them since they were busy with Allegedly getting hacked and losing half a billion accounts.  

HOW WE FIXED IT 
If a website load balancer tries to route you to a dead server, that's not good, so if that ever happens, fear not. Private Tabs will take over and reroute your web requests to a suitable server so you don't experience any outage. Come on... it's crazy to have a website for a company that does not load, right? So, of course, we fixed it for you yet again, TM!  Because you would not want your website to not load for your customers, would you?  These people are sure lucky we're fixing all their constant timeouts and endless spinners. 

SERIOUSLY WE GOT YOUR BACK!
We're sorry we couldn't move faster. We did fix it in about 7 hours today for our customers! 

This is just another reason to tell your friends about Private Tabs. We are dedicated to making sure you all keep working and making money! We get it; we're a little more expensive than other "browsers." But hopefully, you'll appreciate that we are on top of things, ensuring you're not blocked. May 30th - Ticket Master Is Installing New Hardware Causing Pages to Not Load

Good Afternoon,

We are sending all Private Tabs customers a quick update to explain that some of you might be seeing this page (below) when visiting TicketMaster.com and why this is happening.

This is not Private Tabs - But there are tricks to avoid it today! 


USE CHROME ENGINE FOR NOW - UNDERSTANDING THIS ISSUE
Ticket Master is upgrading their network this week (Starting May 30th) and installing many new servers and hardware.  We believe this is part of TicketMaster's planned upgrade for the first two weeks of June.   When that error happens, it more than likely means that someone within a company's IT staff has mis-configured their internal load balancer, routing traffic to servers that are turned off.  So, every time you visit the website in question, it sends you to a server that is turned off. 

This has nothing to do with private tabs, as the issue relates to how their load balancer routes connections inside their network.   We suspect that within the next few hours, this will resolve itself as their internal teams discover it.

 

We can confirm this because we are able to see a significant number of their servers are now offline, and a new set of recently installed servers are now online.  So this appears as if they are doing general maintenance and swapping hardware but did not configure the load balancer to ignore the hardware that is offline.  

 

WHY THIS DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE HAPPENING WITH CHROME
Some of you might try to revert to Chrome and notice that it does not happen as much or not happen at all.  This is because load balancer prioritize Chrome over other browser types in many cases. This is also why we recommend you use the Chrome engine today vs the classic, as it can help avoid this issue.   The other reason that it may seem to happen more on multi-session browsers like Private Tabs or others is that these browsers often also have other anti-blocking features that will reset various threads or sessions; when that happens, it trips the load balancer to reset again.  So that means that it tends always to reset or recheck itself when using multi session browsers where a normal browser like Chrome does not do this (but it also blocks you then).  Fear not we are aware of this and are working on a plan to reduce this from happening.   

 

If you do see this happen after today please contact us as we fully expect this to stop happening by tomorrow morning. 


OUR ADVICE DURING THIS TIME
The first bit of advice is to use chrome mode, not classic. This is because most load balancer will prioritize chrome traffic over non-chrome traffic. This means that their is a higher chance of keeping your session active in chrome because they will always route to server that is "online" first, vs if you was not using chrome (firefox / classic / ext.) would get routed second.

So, taking this approach might help you ensure you don't get routed to a bad server. But even if you get a good server, the session will only last 15 minutes on average before their load balancer attempts to move you again. So, if you are in Chrome, just refresh until you get a good session, and then once you do, get your stuff done within 15 minutes.

The second tip we can give you is while loading a different profile, this will establish a different fingerprint session as well and force their load balancer to refresh and route you again.  So, by loading another profile, you can force the whole process to start over if, for some reason, you keep pushing refresh and they don't route you to a good server. That is because the routing is based on your fingerprint using a new fingerprint that will often force them to re-route you again, and then when that happens, there is a good chance your session can be established.   The key is you want your session to be established so it keeps you the good server and does not route you to the bad one.

WHAT NEXT
Please know that we are monitoring this and doing everything in our power to help you. More than likely, this will resolve itself within the next few hours once their engineers discover this problem and fix it. We will also be checking things on our side to see if there is anything we can do to manually route to good servers to avoid this from happening in the future. Also, be aware this is only happening with TicketMaster.com as they are in the middle of a huge upgrade to their system, so don't be surprised if random issues happen in the next week or two with TicketMaster because they are switching out their work as we send out this email.

Custom Domain Setup for 2FA Not Allowed if You Bought Your Domain From Google or Square Space

HOW TO CREATE A GMAIL FILTER AND FORWARD FILTERED EMAILS TO PRIVATE TABS DROPBOX?


Email forwarding is a handy tool in the arsenal of any email user. It allows you to effortlessly redirect emails from one account to another, streamlining your communication process. However, when it comes to Gmail email forwarding, particularly in handling two-factor authentication (2FA) codes sent via email, there are some nuances worth exploring. In this article, we'll check two common scenarios of Gmail forwarding and how they impact the handling of 2FA codes.

Scenario 1: Direct Forwarding from Individual Gmail Accounts to Private Tabs

In this setup, each Gmail account is configured to forward emails directly to a corresponding account profile in Private Tabs. This method ensures that emails are neatly organized within the smart toolbar of their respective account profiles in PT.

This approach is straightforward and efficient, especially for users who manage a manageable number of Gmail accounts. By setting up direct forwarding, users can easily keep track of their emails without the need for additional configurations.

Scenario 2: Consolidating Emails through a "Catch-All" Gmail Account

In this scenario, multiple email accounts forward their emails to a central "catch-all" Gmail account. Subsequently, the catch-all account is configured to forward these emails to PT. While this setup offers centralization benefits, it raises questions regarding how PT handles forwarded emails and 2FA codes.

  1. Determining the PT Account Profile: PT determines the account profile to display the forwarded email based on the recipient address. Even when emails are forwarded from a catch-all account, PT matches them to the corresponding account profile based on the original recipient address.
  2. Need for Corresponding Account Profiles: Yes, PT requires a corresponding account profile for each email account that forwards emails to the catch-all Gmail account. This ensures that forwarded emails are displayed within the appropriate account profiles in PT.

Handling 2FA Codes and Customized Forwarding

When it comes to handling 2FA codes and customized forwarding, Gmail provides robust options. Many users already have default forwarding setups, which may conflict with PT's requirements. To address this, users can create filters based on specific keywords to forward relevant emails accurately.

For instance, emails containing the keyword "authorization" can be forwarded to Ticket Master, while those with "verification" can be forwarded to AXS. By creating tailored filters, users can ensure that 2FA codes and other critical emails are forwarded to the appropriate destinations seamlessly.

Creating Custom Filters for Efficient Forwarding

To streamline the process of setting up customized forwarding, users can follow these steps:

  1. Identify Keywords: Determine specific keywords associated with 2FA emails from different platforms (e.g., "authorization" for Ticket Master, "verification" for AXS).
  2. Create Filters: Utilize Gmail's filter feature to create rules based on these keywords. For example, "Any email containing 'authorization' should be forwarded to Ticket Master."
  3. Test and Refine: Experiment with different keywords and filter configurations to ensure accurate forwarding. Users can test the filters by sending test emails and verifying their routing in PT.

A. Get the Private Tabs Dropbox Email

1. Log in to Private Tabs Classic.

2. Click on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner.


3. Select "My Account"


4. In the left-hand menu, click on "Email Config Global" > "Gmail Forwarding"

5. In the right pane, you'll see the Private Tabs Dropbox email address in step number 3. Note this email address for use in the following steps.

B. Create the Gmail Filter


1. Log in to your Gmail account.


2. Click on the gear-like iconin the top right corner.

3. Select "See all settings"

4. Go to the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab.Click on "Create a new filter"

There are multiple ways to create a filter depending on what you want to forward to Private Tabs:

1. Filter by FROM email addresses.

2. Filter by SUBJECT LINE keywords.

3. Filter by EMAIL BODY keywords.


EXAMPLE 1: Creating a Gmail Filter to Forward Ticketmaster 2FA Emails to Private Tabs. Ticketmaster 2FA emails contain the word "authentication" in the subject line. To create the filter:


a. In the "Subject" field, enter "Authentication." Click "Create filter."


b. Check the box next to "Forward it to," and enter the Private Tabs Dropbox email address. Click "Create filter" to save your changes.

Note: You may be prompted to verify your Gmail account to proceed.


EXAMPLE 2: Creating a Gmail Filter to Forward AXS 2FA Emails to Private Tabs. AXS 2FA emails contain the word "verification" in the subject line. To create the filter:


a. In the "Subject" field, enter "Verification." Click "Create filter."


b. Check the box next to "Forward it to," and enter the Private Tabs Dropbox email address. Click "Create filter" to save your changes.

Note: You may be prompted to verify your Gmail account to proceed.

We're Experiencing Delays Setting Up New Account Imports

We wanted to let everyone know we're behind by a few days.
Our team always tries to take ownership when dropping the ball, and this past week, we had a huge uptick in new customers who needed accounts imported, and we needed to catch up. Use custom proxy when accessing international sites

Are you experiencing issues with accessing international websites just like the below website?

For anyone wishing to purchase tickets on the Euro website or any site outside the US, we recommend CUSTOM PROXIES.

Our proxies are only tested and confirmed to work within the US. If you’re doing international buys, you’ll want to use a custom proxy supporting external sites. You can load a custom proxy by going into the proxy setting. Below are the steps.

1. Click on the 3 dots on the upper right

2. Choose My Account

3. On the left-hand panel menu, click on Setup Your Proxy Networks

4. Under the CUSTOM PROXY SERVERS (RECOMMENDED) section, check the "USE PROXY SERVER LIST" box.

5. You can import your custom proxies by clicking the Import Proxy List button.

We are considering trying to support international websites with our proxies but at the moment we only support US-based sites. The reason this site does not work is because it’s an international site. If you use international proxies, you will be able to get this site to work.

We have tested this with all competitor browsers as well and confirmed that this is NOT a browser issue but rather a proxy issue as all browsers including all competitor browsers have the exact same issue as well when viewing international sites such as the above using non-international proxies.   

This should be a fairly simple fix by using international proxies as this will resolve any blocking in international sites.

How to Override Security Settings and Open Private Tabs on Mac

If you have a Mac, when you first install Private Tabs, you will get a prompt like this, which will appear as not opening; this is normal.  If you have a MAC, you'll need to do the following.

PART 1 
- Push "Show in Finder" 

- Locate Private Tabs Launcher  in the "Apps" folder 

-  Right Click or Hold the "CMD" key down and click the icon Private Tabs. 

-  Private Tabs will bring up this box and this time it will say a "Open" above the box. 

-  Click "Open Anyway" and Private Tabs will automatically open. 

- Close Everything Down and re open again

Now Private Tabs should open without any warnings. 

PART 2 

To change which apps can open on your Mac or adjust your security settings:

  • Click the Apple menu, then select "System Preferences".
  • Choose "Security & Privacy" in the System Preferences window.
  • In the Security & Privacy settings, navigate to the "General" tab.
  • To make changes to your security settings, click the lock icon and enter your administrator password when prompted.

That's it!

Following these steps should resolve the issue, allowing you to open Private Tabs app without encountering security warnings.

Fix For Endless Waiting Room Spinners - Works With Most Accounts



TEMPORARY FIX FOR ENDLESS WAITING ROOM SPINNERS 
If you're experiencing an issue with Ticket Master Qs that spin forever and never load, the official fix will be pushed out in the next few days, but this should work for most until then. As a temporary solution, you should be able to fix it by pushing "Rotate IP" and then "Advance Rotation" in classic mode. Then, in the advanced rotation menu, choose this combo.  If you are on a lower plan that does not have access to classic mode, you will need to wait for the official fix in a few days.  

NOTE: This issue is a combination of account / fingerprint / proxy-based, so this may only work for some users.  If this does not work for you just know we are pushing an update soon that will fix it. 

BEFORE YOU DO THIS CONFIRM..

  • Confirm you are using the latest version of PT and there is no yellow update buttons
  • You do not have AntiVirus or AntiSpyware running 
  • You do not have a VPN running on your local network 
  • You do not have  a proxy server running on your local network 
  • You do not have any additional extensions installed in Chrome mode 

IMPORTANT - ONLY RUN PRIVATE TABS IF POSSIBLE   

  • If you run other browsers besides Private Tabs do not run them at the same time while you're having this block as they will generate network traffic that can cause you to get flagged and then create these spinner effects.  We are going to be addressing this in the future but for now make sure you keep them closed if you're having problems. 

NEXT STEP IF THIS DOES NOT WORK
If this does not work please email support@privatetabs.com and take a screen shot of your setup. Do a FULL SCREEN, making sure you get the browser, all tabs, the exact date/time (your system clock) and tell us your time zone.

We are are aware of what is causing this issue but it will take us a few days to fix, we believe this will be a temp solution for you tho until we can push out more elegant solution.

ISSUE TWO -  404 PAGE OR PAGE TIME OUT (NOT ALL TABS LOAD)
There is new block happening that we will be fixing as well in our upcoming release for those that experience problems where the tab does not load 100%. This often will happen if you open 30+ tabs. We are aware of this issue and have a solution / fix scheduled for it, we will be pushing this out next few days so look for an update!

Massive Chrome Engine Upgrade!


THIS WEEKS UPDATES INCLUDES:

2. 2FA Support: Gmail, Outlook, iMail, Hotmail, Yahoo mail, and custom domains via forwarding or DNS.

In the past, Private Tabs only supported 2FA to appear on the smart toolbar for Gmail email addresses. With this update, it will now support 2FA from other public email domains and can now support 2FA from custom domains via forwarding or adding DNS records.

3. Right-click: Launching the link using the same account or multiple accounts.

When right-clicking on a link, you now have the option to open the link on multiple tabs using the same account or open the link on multiple tabs using different accounts. You can even select the account/s you want to launch the link with and specify how many accounts you want to open the link with.

4. Shows on sale - Right-click copy and paste without authentication:

We fixed a bug where if you're logged into the Shows on Sale dashboard and try to copy the link and paste it into another session, it wouldn't work because it would force you to log in to Shows on Sale again.

5. Multiple monitor support for Flare dashboard:

We've added multiple monitor support for different dashboards, including the Flare system for Ticket Flipping, allowing you to break apart these controller dashboards into a separate window if you have multiple monitors or keep them on the same monitor.

We now have shortcut buttons for launching emails that dynamically change based on what you have set up. If you create a Gmail account or a Hotmail account, the button will change to Gmail or Hotmail, making it easier to log in and stay logged in to that email session.

7. Tab Controller - refresh certain domains, shows, or venues:

The Tab controller has been updated. You can now refresh certain domains, shows, or venues. If you have multiple tabs open and need to refresh tabs associated with specific shows, this feature allows you to do so easily.

8. Pausing & muting music on AXS queues:

We've added the ability to pause and mute music on AXS queues.

9. New Error Detection for "Holding Down Button":

Private Tabs now detects and automatically bypasses prompts like "Hold this button down" and other nag screen prompts like "Do you want to accept cookies" or "Are you still there?", ensuring smoother operation.

10. Bug Fixes and Line Position Support for AXS and Ticketmaster queues:

We've fixed various bugs and added support for line positions in AXS and Ticketmaster queues.
