This week of November 15th a few people on our coaching team have various commitments and personal obligations so our response may be slower than usual and you may hear from a few folks you don't see very often. :) 

We ask you to honor your commitment/promise agreement knowing our coaches have time off for personal/professional obligations, just as we understand you have your own personal and professional obligations. 

If you get an answer from a coach you don't know yet and would like someone else to review your question, please don't hesitate to ask. You will not hurt our feelings. We just ask that you understand that there may be a longer delay for that second reply than normal. 

We are eager to review your work and will respond with thought and intention shortly. Please know any delay in our response or sending your question to another coach is not due to a lack of eagerness. It is to ensure we intentionally give you the feedback deserved in a timeframe that is best for you.

You may have noticed that Growth Tools coaching emails have been quiet lately. Well...yikes...we've been sending 'em! 

We've learned that emails around the globe have been landing in spam folders (or outer space) 🚀 

This applies to the coaching and account emails we're sending to you...and many of our clients are experiencing the same thing. 

Somewhere in Silicon Valley land, a lever was flipped that changed the algorhythm causing more emails to go into spam. 

If you haven't heard from us in a while, be sure to check your spam folder (and we'll check ours for love notes from you

Matt discussed two important ways to make sure partnerships become your “go-to” lead generation and revenue strategy:

  • Use our follow-up sequence inside your Partnership Playbook
  • 70+% of your partnership success will come from using the full 3-step follow-up system we provide in your playbook (located in the “Watch Me Followup” action item)
  • Commit to sending 3-5 email pitches per week for the next 90 days to ramp up your efforts

You can do it, just like these folks have:

  1. $18,000 in coaching sales
  2. $0 to $100,000 in 12 months via partnerships
  3. $30k in new sales via podcast appearances

Mindset Moment 💪 

The importance of eliminating “shiny object syndrome” and distraction:

Why is this a problem? It’s keeping you from accomplishing your stated goals because you’re continuously distracted and confused by outside forces (those shiny looking “new” things to learn)

Symptoms to watch out for:

  • Your big list of business ideas don’t get executed 
  • You jump from one training to another, chasing the excitement of each new promise
  • You keep coming up with new ideas without following through on any of them
  • You buy marketing tools and subscriptions and never fully use one to its max potential

Negative effects of Shiny object syndrome:

  • You don’t hit your goals
  • Sleep issues, fatigue, and stress (because you KNOW you aren’t attaining goals and aren’t sure why)
  • Low productivity

Solutions:

  • Work to understand yourself better
  • Shiny object syndrome is a symptom that you’re not in tune with long-term goals
  • Avoid the “go big or go home” mentality
  • Shiny object syndrome often results because you’re trying to do too much all at once, or trying to swing home runs too often
  • Success comes from putting your head down (after making a plan that you’re committed to seeing through) and doing the small things each day that add up to big success long-term

Ask tough questions:

  • How does this new “thing” benefit me?
  • Why might it be “better” than what I’ve already committed to?
  • Do I have the resources or time to work on this?
  • After thinking about it, should I tuck it away for future use?

It is Spring Retreat time at Growth Tools

In one week, on April 20, 2021, Growth Tools will be closed for our annual Spring Retreat. 

During this time, our team will get together in person and over zoom to connect, reflect, and plan. We will not be available for calls, masterminds, or email support.

But don't fret, we will reopen on April 26, 2021.

Masterminds: There are two masterminds available. One meets Tuesday morning and the other is Thursday afternoon. This is an opportunity to brainstorm with other members, receive advanced training, and collaborate.  

Office Hours: The office hours are drop-in casual. Come for 10 minutes, ask a quick question, say hello, brainstorm with other clients, or stay for the whole hour. There is no "on time" or late or any obligation to stay the whole time. 

15-Minute Check-In: There are quick 15 minute private meetings with one coach to discuss one sticking point. Please be sure to share your specific topic so that we can make the most of our time together.

Reviewing your business every 3 months helps you and us to gain clarity on where your business sits currently and if you’re on track to reach your goals.

Here’s how the 90-day review process works: 

  1. You’ll receive an email 2 days before it becomes available inside your Client Dashboard
  2. Log into your Client Dashboard
  3. Click on the 90 Day Review
  4. Fill it out & send to us
  5. Wait for our Feedback
  6. Approve our feedback, recommendations, and/or changes to your Marketing Plan

The importance of mindset around a few partnership issues:

Will you do ALL my partnership work for me?

  • In reality, you don’t want us to do it ALL
  • You’re the expert and know your business best. We’re experts about writing pitches so that you know the ins and outs and the little details that make that pitch hit home to your potential partner best. 
  • Learn the entire process first and you can always outsource aspects of it later that isn’t in your “sweet spot”
  • But you need to know the process 100% as the business owner so that you can train someone else to do it

Don’t I need to have a product first before doing partnerships?

  • No!
  • If you have a small list, don’t let this limiting belief stop you from getting what your business needs: 
  • New subscribers, an audience
  • Again, you do not need a product! :)
  • There is absolutely no reason to wait until you have a product offer to start using Partnerships as a lead generator

I have a product but my list is small and people with big lists won’t partner with me.

  • This is another limiting belief that we want to help you move past
  • They will partner with you because they need your content
  • Still doubt that? Do a simple podcast tour (they NEED you to provide them podcast content!)

This is what we call a recurring action item, and it can be identified by the circular arrow. 

Our goal is to make it more likely that you keep doing what you know you need to do and give us the ability to step in when we see that you're not.

Soon, we’ll have the ability to help you in the same fashion with your recurring launch and monthly sales webinar schedules.  These recurring playbooks make it harder to forget to consistently perform these two critical areas inside your overall sales funnel.

A few months ago, we started asking you for your weekly win.

Each week, we ask you to share and reflect on the previous week and share just something either very small or very large, something, some positive thing to happen the previous week.

And those have been awesome. Your wins are very encouraging to us. 

There are several reasons we did that. 

  • We want you to start each week thinking about the positive things
  • It's too easy to focus on the negative
  • We want you better prepared to deal with the challenges of running a business

This month we want to remind you of the importance of tracking your wins and remember to include relevant revenue information when doing so. Sharing your wins helps you and us keep track of your revenue increases as we work together.

Andy discussed the great progress Yuvika has made recently with her first partner pitches.

In the beginning, she didn't have clarity on her brand. After fixing that, Yuvika decided to make partnerships a large part of her lead generation and sales process, researched “best fit” partners, wrote those pitches, and started getting yeses.
