Starling V2 Webhooks

Support for Starling V2 webhooks has been released in beta.

To upgrade, simply head over to Sync for YNAB, and remove your current webhook. You will then need to go through and create a new one, following the instructions provided.

Please make sure to remove your old webhook from the Starling dashboard too.

Disconnection Handling Improvements

Until now, when a bank returns an "access denied" error to us, we would trigger the reconnection flow for you, causing an email to be sent out, and requiring you to reconnect your bank.

In some cases, this "access denied" is not actually that, it's just the banks returning the wrong error codes due to issues with their systems.

To better handle this, we have implemented 2 things:

Disconnection Retries

If we receive an access denied error from the bank, we will retry over the next 6 to 12 hours to try and access that data again, to ensure it wasn't a temporary issue.

Automatic Recover

As part of the above process, if we are able to pull the data during a retry, we will automatically mark the connection as healthy. At this point, we have decided not to send emails about this, as it may get a bit noisy, so it will just show up as connected in your dashboard.

Dark Mode

This week I have begun work on Dark Mode for Sync for YNAB. This should make the site a bit nicer to use when you have your device set to dark mode.

Please reach out to support if you see anything I have missed, or with any feedback.

Pending Transactions

We have rolled out initial support for Pending Transaction sync to Monzo, TransferWise and Revolut. More banks should come soon, as we work out which banks provide stable enough API’s to provide this service.

Pending transactions will appear in YNAB as uncleared transactions. Once they clear at your bank, we will automatically mark them as cleared in YNAB.

This feature is in beta, so please reach out if you have any issues.

Please don’t reach out and ask for your bank to be supported at this time, as we are trying to support all banks we can.

Support for Comdirect, Sparkasse and Deutsche Bank

We have just rolled out beta support for Comdirect, Sparkasse and Deutsche Bank in Germany.

As with all beta banks, please report any issues to support so that we can get them resolved as quickly as possible with our data provider to make these connections as stable as possible.
