Greenline acquired by BLAZE - A letter from our CEO

Dear customers,

I’m excited to announce that Greenline has been acquired by BLAZE, a US-based cannabis retail platform for everything from retail POS, delivery, distribution, and more! In this post, I want to explain what it will mean for your Greenline experience.

Greenline has always been primarily-bootstrapped business to now service over 700 stores across Canada. We’ve always relied on customer revenues to fund our operations, which has been great for building discipline in focused product development. However, we recognize that there is an opportunity for Greenline to do so much more for the industry. In an ever-increasing competitive environment, retailers need more tools than ever before to stay ahead of the curve.

BLAZE has big international growth ambitions. I’m confident that our acquisition with BLAZE will provide us with the resources and talent required to deliver more for our customers via new features and product offerings. Stay tuned, we’ll be announcing them throughout the rest of the year.

Greenline will become the Canadian division of BLAZE, meaning that our product and our team will be here to stay to service the Canadian cannabis retail market. Your data will continue to be hosted safely in Canada. Our POS software will continue to operate and improve. Our incredible team will stay on to provide world-class service to our customers.

I am truly grateful for all of our customers who believed in us over the past 5 years to run some of the most mission-critical operations in their stores. Thank you for the incredible word of mouth that helped us grow from store to store. We’re committed to helping retailers grow and succeed.

Thank you,
Albert Kim
CEO of Greenline POS

Parked sale release updates

As you may have noticed, the POS parked sale experience has been updated to support paid online orders. Our goal is to allow budtenders to do more from the POS vs having to go to the Dashboard.

However, some stores have experienced issues with uncleared historical parked sales.

This can happen if stores have not marked orders as "completed". As a result, some stores saw many old orders re-surface in this update. Our team has been listening and is working to clear them for all customers.

We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

šŸ‘‹ Mar 1, 2022 product updates

Important notice: There is a global supply shortage of POS hardware, including but not limited to tablets, receipt printers, scanners, and more. We will let our customers know when the situation improves in the future.

Features

  • 🎁 Greenline Loyalty is now available to everybody! This set of optional features allows for stores to set up loyalty tiers, each with different $ credit/visit rewards. Greenline does not support %/spend rewards, as they are generally deemed not compliant in all provinces. To learn more, please visit our guide.

Quality of life

  • Dashboard: Loyalty balances can be adjusted regardless of whether the customer has a loyalty tier or not. Store managers (with the right permissions) with access to the dashboard can add credit balances to customers, and redeem them on the POS as a discount.
  • Dashboard: Customers can now be added to a completed sale on the dashboard.

Bugs

  • Dashboard: Fixed an issue where historical inventory-on-hand report quantities were affected based on if the product is currently deleted or inactive. Now, historical inventory will always show up regardless of current state. Retailers who have had inconsistency issues with these reports should see a noticeable improvement in consistency.
  • POS: Fixed an issue where parked sales did not show correct $ values for fees coming in from e-commerce platforms (shipping, delivery, etc.).
  • POS: Fixed an issue where some sale were made without any employees attached. Now, if an employee is auto-logged out during the payment processing flow, a prompt shows up to ask them to enter their passcode again.
