One of the most valuable aspects of Momentum is the community. You automatically have a common language, training, and approach to their practice that bonds you, and we have facilitated collaboration via AB's and practice pods.
As we welcome new members in a few weeks, let’s reflect on this invaluable feature. Many of you have already established online practice buddies that you started connecting with outside of Momentum. While this is expected, remember that Momentum is still your home base where everyone is welcome and can get what they need. We don’t want to devolve into a group full of cliques, where some members (especially new members) have nowhere to belong. Right?
We really want to make sure that new members coming in feel welcome and integrated, the way you did when you joined. So we’d like to try something new....
***Momentors to mentor new Momentees***
We would like to have a handful of volunteer Momentors we can assign new Momentees to. Ideally, Momentors would only have a few Momentees each. Momentors would be responsible for assisting your Momentees for their first 2 months:
Inviting Momentees to some of your practice pod practices so they can “get the hang of it” and meet more people
Encouraging them to find an AB if they haven’t already or need a new one so they don’t rely on you exclusively
Helping them with questions with Momentum theme activities, and encouraging them to ask us for help too so they don’t get stuck
Watching for their posts in Momentum and making sure to comment on them.
You don’t need to schedule extra meeting times with them - you can communicate via messages/email.
If you are already active in Momentum, this should be an easy extension of what you are already doing.
If this sounds like a way you would like to contribute to enrichen the Momentum community, please comment below or send us an email.
Thanks!
