For our Cityscape Pro members: We've added a new Property Finder map that shows properties that have delinquent taxes for the 2018 and earlier tax years. A tax sale will occur in May 2020 (this is different than the biannual scavenger sale).

We will soon be adding a lookup tool that will enable users to see if a given address or PIN is listed in the tax sale. The Cook County Treasurer, which manages the tax sale, has their own lookup tool.

Based on customer request, we have improved several features and functions on the Chicago Businesses Map & Spreadsheet. This page helps people find the number of businesses of a given type (like, "Retail Sales of Perishable Foods") and the number of those types in a given neighborhood.

The improvements include:

• Faster load time
• Faster search time

• Clearer filter labels

  

Additionally, there are more filters in more places:

• Filters added to the Businesses Map & Spreadsheet section on each Place page
• Filters added to the Businesses Map & Spreadsheet section on each Address Snapshot

We get our data from the City of Chicago's business licenses dataset. Not all businesses are required to be licensed by the city. Banks, for example, are licensed by the State of Illinois.
