Subscription Group Enhancements

Simplifying your customers billing is a necessary step in providing a delightful experience with your product. At Chargify, we love knowing our Subscriptions Group functionality provides an easy way to bill your customers when they have multiple subscriptions by consolidating invoices. We are excited to share a few enhancements to Subscription Groups, all thanks to the valuable feedback we have received from our customers!

Chargify users will now be able to manage service credits and prepayments on the subscription group level, instead of the individual level. Additionally, users can now update the group payers payment profile and cancel an entire subscription group with one action. We hope this will save you time and energy in managing your customers' multiple subscriptions.

Chargify Business Intelligence: Dashboard Creator

On May 4th, we released Chargify Business Intelligence (BI), providing our customers with the most powerful reporting and analytics tool seen in the recurring billing space. We will continue to bring you frequent updates on the robust functionality BI offers you and your team. This week, we are talking about the Dashboard Creator, a tool that allows you to build interactive dashboards using your saved metrics.

The Dashboard Creator enables you to create custom dashboards and securely share them with key stakeholders. To help you get started, Chargify Business Intelligence provides 7 out-of-the-box dashboards tailored by user (e.g. Executive, Finance, Customer Success). These dashboards can be cloned and customized to align with your organization's reporting framework.

Salesforce: Lead Generated from Trial Subscriptions

Your success as a company is heavily dependent on a strong and effective sales pipeline. Managing and capturing the most up-to-date information on your trialing subscribers can become difficult, oftentimes leading to misplaced or duplicated contact and account information. To help prevent these hiccups for your sales organization, we are excited to announce our latest enhancement to our Salesforce integration!

Your trialing subscription data from Chargify can seamlessly integrate with your Salesforce environment, allowing for your trial subscriptions to create or match to an existing lead in Salesforce. This will give your sales team the most up-to-date information on their prospects and existing customers currently on a trial subscription.

Your sales team will quickly see new customer signups that have not converted to an active subscription. Additionally, once the Chargify subscription moves to an active state, the Salesforce lead will automatically convert to an Account/Contact record. This parody of information between Chargify and Salesforce can save dozens of hours for your team by eliminating manual data entry and the extra communication needed to keep everyone up to date on those customers in the pipeline.

Chargify Business Intelligence: Explorer & Out-of-the-Box Metrics

Last week, we released Chargify Business Intelligence (BI), providing our customers with the most powerful reporting and analytics tool seen in the recurring billing space. To show you our excitement with our latest release, we will be bringing you frequent updates on the robust functionality BI offers you and your team. This week, we are talking about the Explorer, a tool that allows you to create, save, and manage custom metrics.

The Explorer enables you to perform flexible analysis on your Chargify data by creating metrics. Metrics run queries on your data based on selectable parameters and return a visualization of the query result. These metrics can be saved, easily added to a dashboard, and then securely shared with key stakeholders.

To help you get started, Chargify Business Intelligence offers 24 out-of-the-box metrics. Out-of-the-box metrics provide a baseline and can be cloned and customized for additional granularity. You can also create custom metrics from scratch.

New Default Payment Profiles

Maintaining great relationships with your end customers oftentimes starts out with the way you bill them. By utilizing online and public invoices through Chargify, you can provide a seamless experience for your end customer to pay you. As many of you already take advantage of this feature, your customers can access their invoice online from an automated email or from your team by copying the link from the Chargify interface under "More Options" when viewing the invoice.

We are excited to announce a new feature to the UI of these public invoices! Your customers now have the option to save their Credit Card by making it their default payment moving forward. This will prevent your customer from providing their credit card information the next time they pay their invoice, by selecting the one that is already on file.

Salesforce: Populate Custom Fields in Subscription Wizard

Over the past several weeks we have made several enhancements to our native Salesforce integration thanks to feedback from our customers! As many of you have seen, we added the ability to activate all subscriptions on an opportunity record, upgrade/downgrade subscriptions via opportunities, and also extended Calendar Billing from Chargify into Salesforce allowing for the utmost flexibility in the way you manage and sell your subscriptions.

Today we are excited to announce a new development with our integration by adding in custom fields to the Subscription Wizard. When creating a new subscription, you can update and/or edit your custom fields to provide additional data that is vital to your business and beneficial for your end customer to see. These custom fields provide an extra layer of information, beyond what is already provided in your product catalog.

For more information on our Salesforce integration, see our documentation here>

Salesforce: Calendar Billing

The way you bill your customers is essential to running your business. Many of our customers today take advantage of Chargify's built-in Calendar Billing functionality, allowing them to choose the specific day of the month their subscribers should be billed on, not the day they signed up for your product and/or service. For example, you may want all of your customers' subscriptions to renew on the first of the month.

The goal with our CRM integrations is to mirror your Chargify environment as much as possible to provide your teams a seamless experience to sell and manage subscriptions. Because of this, we are excited to announce that we have extended Calendar Billing to our native Salesforce integration. When creating a Subscription via the Subscription Wizard, you can configure the subscription to be Calendar Billed on the specific day of the month you choose.

For more information on how Calendar Billing works, see our documentation here>

Importing of Cancelled Subscriptions

Having the continuity with your historical data for your customers in a single system makes your life easier by providing "the big picture" on your subscriber base. Because of this, we are excited to announce that we have hit another milestone on our product roadmap to import your historical data into Chargify.

You now have the ability to import cancelled subscriptions. Importing cancelled subscriptions can be done either through the UI with a CSV or via the API. Once imported, you will be able to see all of the historic cancelled subscriptions on the Subscriptions Page (Billing > Subscriptions)

For more information on the minimum requirements for creating cancelled subscriptions, see our documentation here>
