Enhanced Commissions Reporting with Sales Rep Listed Directly on Your Subscriptions

Tracking sales representative commissions is important as your business and sales team grow. To help support your commission needs, we have added the Sales Rep to the Subscription record within the Summary tab. This information then flows through to the Sales Commission Report for easier commissions management.

We have also added the Sales Rep to our API endpoints, so this information can be managed directly through your CRM (or any other system) and passed into Chargify as needed. To ensure continued security, a new authentication method has been introduced to all you to access this seller level data. Access to the Sales Commission API is available to users with financial access and Advanced Analytics.

Note: The Sales Rep listed at the time of running the report will be referenced for all revenue associated to that specific Subscription.

Your product feedback is always welcome as we continue to invest in our commissions functionality. If you have specific commissions requests or feedback, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager or Chargify Support.

Invoice List Improvements within the UI

Getting a solid understanding of your different invoices is now easier with the newly released pagination and URL parameters enhancement for the Invoice list page within the Chargify UI. With this, users can now sort their invoices based on the existing filters and receive back a paginated list for easier consumption and review. Users can then share the exact URL with a colleague so they are both looking at the same list. An example of this would be filtering based on invoices in a 'Collection' status and sharing that with a colleague for review and action.

Easier Bad Debt Management with New Collections Status

Managing past due Invoices is now easier with the Chargify collections status. This new invoice status allows you to better manage invoices who have passed through the dunning process without a successful payment being collected but are not ready to close the invoice. This invoice status is used when still attempting to collect payment after dunning concludes.

Note: Collection status for invoices is available regardless of your subscription status.

To turn this on for your site, please contact your Customer Success Manager or the Chargify Support team.

Organization Now Included in Recent Activity Lists

It is now possible to see the Organization in addition to the account holders name within the Dashboard and ‘Recent Activity’ lists. This additional data point provides additional clarity around many activities including signups, invoices and payments.

For more information on our Activity Track, see our documentation >

End of Trial Email Timing Updates

It is now possible to specify when ‘End of Trial’ emails are sent. This email was previously only sent out 3 days prior to a trial ended but is now configurable to be any number of days you wish. This enhancement is especially useful if you have contract terms or renewal periods greater than a month. 3 days will continue to be the default setting unless an administrator updates this setting within your configuration.

New Dunning Options Available

Many customers on our invoice architecture have subscriptions which remit payment against invoices manually. It is now possible to send dunning notifications to customers who receive manually remitted invoices or who are not set up for automatic payments via Chargify. This new functionality will allow you to automate the dunning notifications for these invoices, reducing your need to chase after customers when payments are late.

This new dunning flow is triggered when the invoice is passed due. An invoice is past due when today's date is greater than the invoice issue date plus the net terms associated with the specific invoice. From there, dunning emails are triggered based on your specific invoice dunning configurations. These configurations include the number of emails you send, when they are sent, what actions for the customer to take, etc.

Secondly, it is now possible to omit customers and their subscriptions from all dunning flows. This will ensure your customers do not receive automated dunning outreach. This feature is especially useful when you are dealing with your high importance, high touch customers. Configuring a customer to be included or excluding from dunning, is a simple yes / no field on the subscription record.

Multi-Currency per Site

It is now possible to sell in multiple currencies within a single Chargify site! This change greatly reduces the overhead you experience from selling internationally!

With Chargify’s new multi-currency functionality you simply specify what currencies are available on each of your sites, configure your pricing, and allow your customers to sign up for products and services in those currencies. No more managing multiple sites or multiple product offerings (as required by some billing systems) just to achieve multiple currency support.

Setting up you Chargify Site for Multi-Currency

Once multi-currency is enabled, simply select which currencies you would like on your site. Chargify will leverage currency exchange rates (FX) for reporting and optional price conversion. When specifying your selected currencies, it is important to select which FX rates you wish to use. You can either input your own FX rate per currency or choose to have Chargify maintain the FX rate on your behalf. If you choose Chargify to update the FX rates, the Chargify system will use ‘Open Exchange Rates’ to update all required FX rates on an hourly basis.

When setting up your site, you will also be asked to specify your sites default currency. This currency will be the bases for the FX conversion and will also be the currency for all site reporting.

Multi-Currency and Your Product Offering

Once the currencies are specified at the site level, you are able to define your product and component level pricing. Product Catalog currencies are defined within the price point. This eliminates the requirement for Product bloat or catalog proliferation just to support different currencies. With currencies at the price point level, you can specify specific prices in each of your supported currencies. Alternately, you can set your base (default) currency and choose to use FX to calculate the prices in your other currencies.

When setting up your pricing per currency, we recommend setting specific prices rather than leveraging the exchange rates. Setting specific prices eliminates any FX related pricing fluctuation and ensures stable prices for the life of your contracts.

Multi-Currency and Your Customers

Now that your product catalog is configured, customers can simply subscribe to your product offering in their desired currency. Each subscriptions currency will now be set at the time of subscription creation and cannot be changed. It is, however, possible to have subscriptions with different currencies under the same customer account. This is very impactful when selling to a single organization across geographies and cuts down on a massive amount of overhead when managing your customer base.

Multi-Currency and Your Reporting

Much like cross-site insights, the specified FX rates will be used to transform all revenue and payments into the base currency for reporting purposes. Which FX rate used is based on your site configurations.

To get multi-currency turned on for your site contract Chargify support or your Customer Success Manager.

For more information on how multi-currency works, see our documentation >

Payments via Apple Pay Now Available

Chargify is making it easier than ever for your customers to pay you, with Apple Pay. This is incredibly important for the card holder and also for you as it reduces the friction at the checkout for new and existing customers.

In addition to added simplicity, Apple Pay reduces chargebacks due to fraud and costly fees. Apple Pay uses a tokenized ID specific to your customer’s supported device to authorize secure transactions for your products.
