Invoice Details Visible Inside HubSpot

We know it's vital for your Support Teams to have information at their fingertips in order to quickly service your customers. Chargify's HubSpot integration lets you view subscription changes, payment and invoice history, usage and next billing dates, all within the Contact and Deal Record views.

Adding to our native HubSpot integration, we are excited to announce an enhancement to viewing Invoice Details! Once the subscription is generated, the integration will provide a PCI compliant invoice link to collect payment from your contacts in addition to visibility for your customer-facing teams.

The invoice details include:

  • Invoice ID
  • Status
  • Payment Collection Method
  • Invoice Due Amount
  • Invoice Paid Date
  • Credits Used

These values will stay up-to-date in HubSpot's CRM extension and can help you streamline your revenue operations, support, and more.

Introducing Dashboard Theming for Business Intelligence

Dashboards that are easy to understand and consistent with your branding allow you to seamlessly convey the value you provide to your end users. We are thrilled to announce the release of advanced theming capabilities for your dashboards, allowing you to easily control the look and feel of your dashboards.Whether you are running business reviews with key clients or embedding metrics for a strategic partner, you can now provide a more cohesive experience for dashboards that are shared or embedded  outside of Chargify BI.

Our Dashboard Theming feature has three main categories: General, Chart Elements and Visualization Types. You can access this functionality in Dashboard Edit mode from the top, right ‘Theming’ button.

Dashboard Theming

  • The General tab  allows you to select the overall data color palette that you want to apply to your dashboard. Here, you are also  able to set the background color, fonts, and space between your chart elements.
  • On the Chart Elements tab you can set the text font, color, and size for your chart titles, subtitles, legends, labels, grids, X- and Y-Axis, as well as tooltips.
  • The look and feel of each Visualization Type (Line & Aera, Pie & Donut, Funnel, Metric, Table) can be defined on the last Theming tab. This includes things like line thickness, values style, labels, and colors.

Specify Invoice Recipients from the Admin UI

We understand that some of your customers need to have multiple recipients of an invoice for increased visibility amongst teams. We are excited to announce that you now have the ability to specify additional recipients when sending invoices from the Admin UI.

Prior to this update, clicking the 'Send Invoice' button would automatically send the invoice to the primary contact on the account. Now, the UI will prompt the user with a modal which will be pre-populated with the primary contact, and additional contacts can be added on the To:, CC:, and BCC: fields.

Component Dunning

Subscription businesses are prone to failed customer payments from time to time. Having an effective dunning strategy can help prevent churn and is important in resolving customer's failed payments swiftly. Within Chargify, you have the flexibility in tailoring your communication approach, in addition to the pre-built templates, for your customers entering the dunning process.

Today we are excited to announce a new feature added to our dunning functionality. Introducing mid-period component dunning! This new feature allows for failed mid-period component allocations payment to move a subscription into dunning. This allows your customer and team to be alerted to any issues with a mid-period allocation payment.

Customizable Emails for Upcoming Renewals

Without a bulletproof subscription renewal process, your customers can experience unexpected charges, questionable renewal tactics, and ultimately churn. To better delight your customers, Chargify's renewal emails keep your customers in the know of upcoming subscription renewals, as well as the added option to update/change their payment profile and plan(s).

We are happy to introduce new customizable upcoming renewal options for these email communications. This new feature allows you to customize renewal email timing, in addition to specifying which product price points an email should be triggered on.

For more information on upcoming renewal email settings, see our documentation here>

Service Credits in Billing Portal

Chargify's billing portal provides a convenient interface for your customers to update their credit card and billing details, change plans and number of addons, as well as cancel their subscription. Best of all, modifying what actions are available for your customers can be done through the Chargify UI, all without having to write any code.

To further enable your customers ability to manage their own accounts, we are excited to announce new Service Credit and Prepayment balances to the billing portal view. Your customers will know exactly what balance already exists before an invoice is issued.

For more information about the billing portal, see our documentation here>

New Filter Options via API for Invoicing

Last month we released a new endpoint to send invoices via API to mimic the behavior of the "Send Invoice" button within the UI. This endpoint enables you to programmatically deliver ad-hoc invoices as well as the re-send of auto-generated invoices, thus giving you control of when to send out an invoice.

As we continue adding new API endpoints, we are excited to announce new filter options on exposed event types on an invoice. You can now filter for multiple event types on an invoice (e.g. issue_invoice, apply_credit_note, refund_invoice) using a comma separated list. Previously, you were able to filter by only 1 invoice event.

Xero Integration: Component Quantities Shown on Invoice

Thanks to feedback from our customers, we are very excited to announce an enhancement to invoicing with our native Xero integration! The invoices produced out of Xero are now updated to align with the Chargify invoice quantity per each specific component your customer is billed on. Previously, the quantity was set to 1 with the total amount of the component noted in the unit price attribute. The actual quantity was only available in the line item description. This added functionality improves the ability to view and track in Xero the components sold to your customers.

For more information on Xero invoicing, see our documentation here>

Reactivate Subscriptions with Prepayments and Service Credits

Sometimes customer subscriptions need to be reinstated after being cancelled. Instead of creating a brand new subscription, our reactivation functionality allows you to reinstate a subscription with the following options:

  • Start a New Billing Period
  • Resume Billing Period
  • Collect Any Outstanding Balances
  • Include Trialing Period

In addition to those listed above, we are excited to announce that our Product Team has added new options for you to adjust how this reactivation gets paid by allowing for Service Credits and Prepayments to be selected.

When this option is selected, any Service Credits and Prepayments on the subscription will be applied to the reactivation charge before attempting to use the customers' payment profile.

Component Allocation History in Salesforce

Mirroring as much of your customers' subscription information in Chargify to your Salesforce environment is vital to creating efficiencies amongst your Sales and Customer Success Teams. After hearing from many of our customers currently leveraging our native integration, we are excited to share an exciting new feature in Salesforce!

You can now view historical and current allocation of all components and their respective usage for each customers' subscription. This added visibility in Salesforce gives your team faster response times to take action and assist customers, preventing the need to look up component allocations in Chargify.

For more information on configuring the subscription layout object for your Salesforce integration, see our documentation here>
