Salesforce: Lead Generated from Trial Subscriptions

Your success as a company is heavily dependent on a strong and effective sales pipeline. Managing and capturing the most up-to-date information on your trialing subscribers can become difficult, oftentimes leading to misplaced or duplicated contact and account information. To help prevent these hiccups for your sales organization, we are excited to announce our latest enhancement to our Salesforce integration!

Your trialing subscription data from Chargify can seamlessly integrate with your Salesforce environment, allowing for your trial subscriptions to create or match to an existing lead in Salesforce. This will give your sales team the most up-to-date information on their prospects and existing customers currently on a trial subscription.

Your sales team will quickly see new customer signups that have not converted to an active subscription. Additionally, once the Chargify subscription moves to an active state, the Salesforce lead will automatically convert to an Account/Contact record. This parody of information between Chargify and Salesforce can save dozens of hours for your team by eliminating manual data entry and the extra communication needed to keep everyone up to date on those customers in the pipeline.

Chargify's Salesforce Quoting

Giving your customers a seamless buying experience starts with your sales team having the right tools at their disposal, especially in a system they’re so natively used to: Salesforce. As we continue to make enhancements to our Salesforce integration, we are excited to announce that we have added the ability to create quotes with versioning inside a subscription preview.

This will allow for your team to negotiate pricing with your customers. In addition, Manager and Customer approval settings are also available to allow no interruption to your existing workflows.

Salesforce: Populate Custom Fields in Subscription Wizard

Over the past several weeks we have made several enhancements to our native Salesforce integration thanks to feedback from our customers! As many of you have seen, we added the ability to activate all subscriptions on an opportunity record, upgrade/downgrade subscriptions via opportunities, and also extended Calendar Billing from Chargify into Salesforce allowing for the utmost flexibility in the way you manage and sell your subscriptions.

Today we are excited to announce a new development with our integration by adding in custom fields to the Subscription Wizard. When creating a new subscription, you can update and/or edit your custom fields to provide additional data that is vital to your business and beneficial for your end customer to see. These custom fields provide an extra layer of information, beyond what is already provided in your product catalog.

Salesforce: Calendar Billing

The way you bill your customers is essential to running your business. Many of our customers today take advantage of Chargify's built-in Calendar Billing functionality, allowing them to choose the specific day of the month their subscribers should be billed on, not the day they signed up for your product and/or service. For example, you may want all of your customers' subscriptions to renew on the first of the month.

The goal with our CRM integrations is to mirror your Chargify environment as much as possible to provide your teams a seamless experience to sell and manage subscriptions. Because of this, we are excited to announce that we have extended Calendar Billing to our native Salesforce integration. When creating a Subscription via the Subscription Wizard, you can configure the subscription to be Calendar Billed on the specific day of the month you choose.

For more information on how Calendar Billing works, see our documentation here>

Importing of Cancelled Subscriptions

Having the continuity with your historical data for your customers in a single system makes your life easier by providing "the big picture" on your subscriber base. Because of this, we are excited to announce that we have hit another milestone on our product roadmap to import your historical data into Chargify.

You now have the ability to import cancelled subscriptions. Importing cancelled subscriptions can be done either through the UI with a CSV or via the API. Once imported, you will be able to see all of the historic cancelled subscriptions on the Subscriptions Page (Billing > Subscriptions)

For more information on the minimum requirements for creating cancelled subscriptions, see our documentation here>

Bluesnap: 3DS Now Available

We understand you require a winning combination of enterprise-grade security to protect your customers and proven reliability to keep your recurring billing running smoothly. Because of this, we are very excited to announce the latest development in 3DS 2 with our Bluesnap integration!

3‑D Secure (3DS) is an advanced authentication solution implemented to reduce eCommerce fraud by verifying a cardholder’s identity in real time. Each of the major card brands has a 3‑D Secure offering. This will allow for a more seamless integration with merchants’ e-commerce customer experiences.

HubSpot: Multi-Currency Support

We launched our HubSpot integration (beta) a few weeks ago, creating a seamless experience for your customer-facing teams to manage prospects, create deals from your Chargify product catalog, and automatically activate new subscriptions. Today we are excited to announce support for multiple currencies in each HubSpot account.

When configuring your HubSpot account, you can now enable any HubSpot supported currency, mirroring your Chargify setup. Once configured each deal is configurable with any of the enabled currencies and currency conversion is handled per the configuration settings in Chargify. If you are interested in this integration, please email us at support@chargify.com or contact your Chargify Customer Success Manager.

Salesforce: Creating and Downgrading Opportunities

Having a variety of flexible options when configuring your settings for your Salesforce integration is great and what's even better is being able to choose which ones you turn on/off. Because of this we are excited to announce our latest enhancement to the Salesforce integration, allowing you to enable an "Upgrade/Downgrade Oppty Amount Difference".

Understanding not all of our customers manage their sales process the same, this new configuration setting will calculate the values on the opportunity based off the value of the original subscription to what it will be now (via upgrading or downgrading the subscription). There are 3 types of proration that will be available when upgrading/downgrading a subscription on an opportunity:

  • If “Preserve Period” is selected,  the normal next billing date will be respected;
  • If “Include Trial” is selected, the new products trial will be included on the subscription;
  • If “Include Initial” is selected, the setup fee will be included at the time of Upgrade/Downgrade

Once you are ready, SEPA will allow you to take payment for your subscriptions in three easy steps:

  1. Customer selects SEPA Direct Debit at checkout
  2. Customer provides full name, IBAN, and authorizes mandate
  3. Customer gets notification that the payment is complete

Contact your Customer Success Manager or Chargify Support to enable this new payment method. You must have an active account to accept SEPA direct debit with Stripe.

Happy 1 Year Anniversary! Events-Based Billing at Chargify

It’s time to celebrate! Events-Based Billing was launched one year ago, and we are thrilled to see the value it is bringing many of our customers. Events-Based Billing is the future of usage-based and metered billing, allowing for the most complex SaaS billing models to take form.Since its initial launch, we have received lots of feedback and have made enhancements:
  • Introduced Multi-Attribute Rating
  • Invoice Template Updates
Multi-Attribute Rating allows you to dynamically create segments from your events and define targeted pricing for each segment. This  enables increased price flexibility and invoice clarity, which in turn, prevents catalog bloat.

The invoice template was updated to clearly outline how your customers are charged for the value they receive. A new “Usage Details” section is included at the bottom of the invoice detailing both the amount consumed and unique price for each applied rate.

With Events-Based Billing, your customers see exactly what they’re being billed for, even in the most complex pricing scenarios. Your applications’ usage data is ingested by Chargify in real time, allowing you to offer the ultimate customer-centric billing model. To learn how to start using Events-Based Billing today, please contact Chargify Support or your Customer Success Manager.
