Transactions Page Available in Beta

The transactions page for relationship invoicing sites is now available in beta! Viewing and exporting transactional data is easier than ever using the intuitive and simple design. Chargify users are now able to see all invoices, payments, credits, and refunds in a single page with a variety of filter and column selection options.

The robust filtering options include customer, subscription, amount, date range, product, last four of credit card, and status. The page has a user-friendly design and offers the ability to customize columns to fit your specific needs. It also includes a separate tab for each transaction type (e.g. invoices) enabling users to focus on a specific subset of data. The page offers export of your transactional data including additional data attributes giving you the power to slice-and-dice data any way you’d like.

Improvements to Product Catalog Navigation

Our Product Team has made some exciting new changes to Chargify's User Interface (UI) after collecting some feedback from our customer base! Although these changes are minor, the enhancements we made to the Product Catalog layout will look different than what you have been used to.

We have now added pagination to the top of the Product Catalog to make it easier for you to navigate your product catalog across multiple pages, allowing you to scroll to the right page in your catalog. We have also added a 'Back' link to the Product, Component, and Coupon Details views such that after working with a particular product item, you are taken back to the same page in the catalog.

This will make it easier to make several edits to products, components, and coupons in the same product family. For more information on managing products in Chargify, see our documentation here>

Enhanced UI for Customer and Organization Field Displays

Having options for detailing your customer records enables you to align the information in Chargify with how you manage your business. We know from our own customers, that some manage their business relationships on an individual contact level, while others manage via the organization level.

Chargify now differentiates your customers as an organization or an individual contact. If you have populated the organization field for any customer, this information is now prominently displayed in many locations, including:
  • Subscription Index
  • Subscription Record
  • Customer Index
  • Customer Record
If you do not use the Organization field in Chargify, the contact on the customer record will continue to be displayed. For more information on these changes, see our documentation here>

Enhanced Finance Report Now in General Availability

The new version of the Finance Report is now live and is available for users. We have made several enhancements to the layout of the new report for added detail and clarity. The new report provides:

  • Sales broken out by component type
  • Credits broken out by credit type
  • Net Payments by subtracting Refunds from Payments
  • An ‘In Collections’ subcategory of Expected Payments for subscriptions that have failed Dunning but have open invoices
  • Access to the old layout at the bottom of the page for easy comparison between versions

For more information on the Finance Report, see our documentation here>

Accounts Receivable Report Now In General Availability

The A/R aging report we announced two months ago is now available.

You can now track customers' outstanding balances and credit balances using the Accounts Receivables report. This report tracks customer balances down into invoiced amounts, payments, refunds, prepayment balances, and unapplied credits.

It is also possible to use the Accounts Receivable report to measure outstanding balances and make provisions for doubtful accounts. You can also use this report in tandem with the Revenue Retention report to manage overdue accounts and to identify unpaid invoices that can be paid by allocating existing balances.

For more information on the Accounts Receivable report, see our documentation here>

NetSuite Integration Enhancements

To make sure you continue to have the data you need where you need it most, we continue to make investments in our NetSuite integration. These enhancements include moving onto the latest released NetSuite API (20.1), enabling several functionality enhancements to streamline your business processes.

Our latest enhancements include the ability to use custom forms in addition to the out-of-the-box forms for creating sales orders. You can also now choose the specific bank account and specific AR accounts used by the integration when recording refunds.

In addition, NetSuite Payment Instrument functionality is now available. These latest enhancements add specific granularity and control as you sync data back and forth between NetSuite and Chargify.

For more information on our Chargify to NetSuite integration, see our documentation here >

Avalara Integration Accounting Updates

You can now choose how to sync over invoices to your Avalara account using the Chargify to Avalara integration. When configuring your Avalara account in Chargify, you have the option of posting documents to Avalara, as well as choosing how those documents are sent. The two options available are:
  • Set open invoices as 'Uncommitted' in Avalara, supporting Cash Based Accounting practices
  • Set open invoices as 'Committed' in Avalara, supporting Accrual Based Accounting practices

This flexibility allows you to follow either Cash Basis or Accrual Basis accounting principals through our Chargify to Avalara integration. To turn this on for your environment, reach out to your Customer Success Manager or the Chargify Support team.

For more information on linking your Avalara account, see our documentation here >
